Thanks! Based on my research so far. You are 100% correct. I guess I'm taking N-14 off my list. There's way to much uncontrollable problems I don't need. SMH!!!

my question is not about injectors i think , my truck is a freightliner classic xl with n14 cummins select plus black top, and i have the red shut down light on the dash flashing , went I'm driving goes on and stays on for about 2 to 5 seconds and if I park, just idling, the light flash for about 10 seconds and the truck shuts off, but starts right up, there's no knocking noises, or misfire etc, does leak oil on passenger side by the exhaust manifold, or somewhere in that area, also if the light stays on for a while my oil pressure goes to zero , i did replace the oil pressure sensor but still does the same, any advice would be appreciated ,,thanks

Any idea on hard to start without ether, idles rough maybe like its down a cylinder or not enough fuel. When reved slightly and rpms fall it dips below idle then picks back up as it stumbles. Drives fine and roughness goes away with even small load on engine. Idling along in low gear and drag brakes and it goes away. Makes normal amount of power while driving. 94 n14 all stock, fuel filter has been changed. This all started happening after I ran out of fuel.

hi, i do have a cummins celectPlus, the problem is to first start in the morning, the fuel filter is empty, i did replace the return check valve and the problem persist, after it start using starting fluid it work perfect the rest of the day, now can somebody help me find out what the problem is, thank!!

I had a similar problem I will check the fuel pump. I replace the fuel pump it went away. I tested by putting 4 gallons of diesel in a bucket and putting the fuel line in the bucket, disconnect the line from the filter housing and put that fuel line in the 4 gallons of diesel.Hope that helps

You have 2 -1 way check valves one off block near ecm and going to injectors from pump replace both... n14 common issues

"You have a good motor to work with". That is what I thought-until I got no catch issues. Truth told: on a CAT in my personal experience was as strong or more. But the CAT was very thirsty at 5 MPG. Okay, Mack M8 can get 7 MPG running empty: watch youself lose 10-15 MPH going up a Central/Westerm Wisconsin hill. Detroits blow out my hearing they are so loud. Volvo-need I say anything more...?
