TRON! Love it! All holes started as "just surface rust" Surface rust is the time to treat it and fix it.

Exactly, just means a far simpler fix thankfully 🙌🏻

Thank you for doing this project from a perspective of a real home mechanic(- the use of a lift). While Imran's normal content is entertaining to watch I personally can't go out and buy a new M3 to modify it. I also don't have Aston or Hash working for me to do all of the labor. I have dreams of doing a project like yours with an E91 and watching the build you are doing is not only an inspiration but it also shows that not everything is possible with time-laps or editing. Sometimes it doesn't happen over night and not only can it be done on a budget but some mistakes will happen. Thank you again and please continue to keep the dream alive.

Thanks! The usual videos we put out are obviously the professional business side, where this is just my personal project and I am in no way a professional mechanic. Filming and doing the work isn’t always the easiest and it does slow things down but I’m enjoying the project and sharing it with everyone. Having access to the full workshop and help from Aston and Hash is amazing when needed though, especially when it’s something I’m unsure on.

Holy Shit that Guy can weld, plenty of people welding like that on a Flat Bench but Upside Down like this is a Next Level of skill. Been welding 30 years and never seen this Standard underneath a Car, Beautiful 💖💖💖

Looking good. Loving this build, one thing I would say is be careful with the rust left in them rta recesses, if left too long it will work its way down and get under the plates that were just put in.
@EvolveAutomotive3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s all going to get sorted soon, shouldn’t spread too quick. I tried my best to seal up all the edges and then I’ll grind it back and rust treat it.

Having had a 3.0 s50 in my touring you will enjoy it. I didnt go as far as your going with mine but it held up well. now its got a v8 in it and ill probably break stuff now
@Andrew41819753 жыл бұрын
I def think you should keep the touring Green , it almost reminds me of the British Racing Green on the M3 GT. You could even put the adjustable front splitter on it from that car too , and that would make the front mean & green looking.
@EvolveAutomotive3 жыл бұрын
It is the same colour as the M3 GT, the colour is BMW Individual British Racing Green. Personally not a fan of the GT splitter, especially on a Touring. I have a few ideas but it’s definitely staying BRG.

Nice work! Look into epoxy primers rather than etch ✌️

That’s what I ordered and the company sent bed liner twice 😩 Will definitely be doing it in Epoxy Primer. The etch is just temporary

Oh bro I'm a bit deception because I was think that you clean under car with a Laser Cleaner or Dry Ice machine and later soldering plates and paint... you can! Why don't realize this process?? Not bad the work but the magnitude of your project having that be more cleaned de surfaces,but its good its good. No understanding why exist a lot rust under cars,my bmw have 34 years and don't have rust. The white spray do use its anti rust? Thanks for your vids,I learn a lot!!
@michaelkettleson73173 жыл бұрын
Look into a portable shot blaster, for those hard to clean areas. You will have to curtain off the area to stop the workshop filling with excess shot, but you cut out many hours of cleaning and get a better surface for paint. The set up is not expensive or hire the kit.

Why did you drop the tank if you tig welded. There's no splatter with tig.
@EvolveAutomotive3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t know what method Gabe was going to be using. The tank needed to come down anyway to clean above it and the tank itself :)

Splatter or no splatter, surely firing up an electric arc next to a fuel tank is an unnecessary risk to take ?? Lot's of money sitting in that business unit

Welding without weld through primer? Shits gonna rust man. Shame with those nice welds
@m3nine113 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry but welding plates onto bare metal without weld through primer is a recipe for rust… Your welder should have known better…
@vesaersta71343 жыл бұрын
Also the spots he left unwelded will let moisture get inside the metal. Those should have been welded as well for the additional rigidity of the structure.
