MAC Tools Ratcheting Screwdriver / Bit Driver

A look at the 1/4" hex ratcheting screwdriver from MAC Tools. This is the standard length version, and has been a great addition to my tool box. The ratcheting mechanism has 45 teeth resulting in 8° or rotation between clicks. I believe this was made in Taiwan and not in the USA. For about $55 this is a bit pricey for what it is, but has worked well (except for the bit holder cap).

$55 is well worth it. I have the model Mac sold before this 1, Mac is replacing it with this model. I also have 3 of the Snap On's and love them to.

I have the sbdr123sa version with all the bits and the t tool. I use this all the time. It's worked well for me. That part about the cap with the holder falling out I haven't had happen to me. When I heard him say that I tried pulling it out and it wouldn't come out. I've had it for almost a year now and haven't had any problems

The mechanism is identical to the Trident ratchet screwdriver, with a slightly different handle, but the Trident costs a lot less. Mac didn't manufacture this, they just rebranded it.

I bought this screwdriver plus the ratcheting stubby for $20 Canadian from a dealer who was going out of business, plus I got a bunch more tools for dirt cheap

do you like your screwdriver ?I bought a snap on one with soft grip and i kove it

I like it, it's ratcheting mechanism is the right way just like the snap on, turn right to tighten, middle fixed, and left to loosen. I use to have the SO but sold it, the ratcheting mechanism is smoother on the Mac. The Mac is a fixed shank whereas the SO is interchangeable. Mac is Taiwan and SO is USA. Also with both the tail-cap acts a stubby bit holder
