I’ve been wanting to get some rounded bolt removers. I was considering the Bolt Biters, but I’ve heard good things about the Rocket Sockets. I don’t need em as often as some of the rest of y’all, but we could have used them today. My coworker had a few stripped bolts on a turbo and the Irwins in the shop weren’t cuttin it.

Thanks for the review, I have to admit I got exited when I saw Rbrt sockets but when I seen them I put them right down, glad I did. However the RBRT hex , torx, and triple squares are 100% amazing and I swear by them and only reach for them anymore. Sad to see they couldn’t deliver on them, also noticed they screwed up and only go up to 18mm, and you have to buy a separate set for 19mm and higher. Its frankly a bullshit game to make more sales and if they would have just made normal set sizing bed drive size I probably would have bought a set to try..

Thank you for the insight here! I just bought my first Milwaukee stubby and am looking for a good set of 1/2" impact sockets. Is there any reason I shouldn't use the Gear Wrench Bolt Biters or that "6 leaf clover" design as a general purpose socket? I am pretty clueless and just want to make a good decision for a first 1/2" drive impact socket set in metric. I appreciate advice from more knowledgeable people like you!

The bolt biters and turbo sockets are only for rounded bolts that you can’t get off with conventional sockets, using them will damage the bolt/but you are trying to take off.

When I worked at a car dealership a customer got a flat tire over 20 miles out of town. AAA rounded all lug nuts on flat tire and broke tire iron. The car was towed to my dealership and it was given to a entry level tech before a flat rate tech had to drill and replace the lug studs. My gear wrench bolt biters and a IR 2235 eventually was able to remove all the lug nuts. I had to go to a smaller bolt biter a couple of times because the lug nut was collapsing on itself, and hammer them on but the bolt biters worked great for me. And survived to do the job again. Long story short don't rotate tires and go full send on impact gun. USE A TORQUE WRENCH. OR ATLEAST USE TORQUE STICKS.

To be fair the bolt or nut spose to be rounded and taped on with a hammer. I think it not fitting a 10mm is questionable. Let's say you lightly or just started to rounded off a bolt and wanted to get it out before shit hit the fan. Then that might not fit. Now if shit hit the fan and your left with your d#ck in your hand then that 9.5 might be your best friend. I guess its how you look at it. For me it's not worth the price but I love the extractor part of the tool. I think that was a awesome ideal.
