When Harry Belafonte introduces you.......you know you are THE MAN! Saw him at LAX Airport in 2004. Didn't want to bother him so I put my hands together in praying hands and bowed slightly without saying anything to me. He smiled and beckoned me over. I didn't ask for an autograph or say a word. He waved me over to him and gave me a hug and wished me "travelling mercies" and he disappeared into a black Yukon. That memory is way better than his signature. Brava Senor Santana. Listening to your music is like taking a trip through the UNIVERSE!

@@maryrosekent8223 Turlock California in the summer of 1968 at the War Memorial. Santana was a relatively new band, few in my small town had heard of the band, so there may have been 15 people there. I thought they would pack it up and go home but they stayed. It was like my friend and I had been blessed with a private concert. Never felt so much love, joy, deeply spiritual rythmic messages. My heart was opened and Santana's love entered my soul and has stayed with me all of these years. Love Carlos so much, thank you God for leading me to him. A major blessing in my life. Since our elementary days, santana's "black magic woman" and "oye como va" were already filling the airwaves. Our eldest bro, who formed his own band, constantly played these in all of their gigs. Hats off to mr carlos santana and his band, our most favorite band, when we were still 6, until now on our 60's and beyond❤️👌👍

I have listened to Santana since his Woodstock concert back i. The 60’s & today still play his albums and just never get tired of listening to it over & over, timeless music! Nobody can play like Santana, such a unique sound! A band in Sioux Lookout played his music & I could not get enough of it! He is my favorite!

Harry Belafonte was hysterical. Although Carlos has received the recognition he rightfully deserves, a formal recognition at the Kennedy Center honoring his legacy is a beautiful show of appreciation to a man who has brought the world such immense beauty and inspiration. Love you Carlos, thank you for being who you are.

Damn this was beautiful. The guitar work by Rage’s Tom Morello was a perfect tribute to Carlos. And if you ever wonder what truly “great” things have come from America, go listen to Muddy Waters, Lightning Hopkins, Robert Johnson or John Lee Hooker (his collab with Santana on his epic “The Healer” album was magnificent) and you’ll have at least one answer - the Blues. Thanks to the Kennedy Center and the classy, respectful and cool couple sitting to Carlos’ left for helping honor a true legend of music like Señor Santana.
