Awesome. Three of us did a ride up there a few years ago. We started at Cairngorm Lodge SYHA, went through Rothiemurchas forest into Glen Feshie, ascended Mullach Clach a Blair, then across the plateau to Carn Ban Mor, then onwards up to Sgor Gaoith. We then returned across Carn Ban Mor & onto the same descent that you've just enjoyed & then onwards back to the hostel. A great 72km ride!

Hey man, I absolutely love your videos. I used to live just outside Glasgow, and moved to Australia nearly 2 years ago. I now live on the Gold Coast. So I keep watching your videos for the beautiful Scottish places you ride, p.s I’m also a mtb fan as well. Also it’s great to hear some Scottish banter as well since no one gets it over here. Keep up the great videos and I’ll be there watching them every post.

I have been up that peak a few times hiking, first time I was only 14 then I took my elder boy there in a snowstorm when he was 10 and it was his first ever Munro, then most recently a few days before my 50th birthday. It is one of my favourite places in the world. Always blowing a gale but views to die for. I would love to try it on my bike sometime, the descent looks awesome. Thanks for posting your video.

Did this ride a few years ago in early summer. Got to plateau to find deep slushy snow :o( totally un-rideable and almost impossible to push the bikes due to slush jamming between the frame and rear tyre! Must try this again in late summer :o)

Best route up on an E-MTB is from Carnachuin (just before the bothy) on to Carn Ban Mor. I live just a few miles away and it's a classic for the blue sky days or an after work blast....I noted the lack of footage from off the bealach it's pretty messy and techy for the first quarter and can be really boggy and massive ditches to just before where the track becomes "normal" and the Allt Ruadh stream crosses.... few sneaky wee drops on that mid section too but it's a classic alright and not too many anti-bike water bars!!!
@McTrailRider2 жыл бұрын
I’ve done the route you mentioned as well, great for an ebike 👌 I generally only put the most interesting bits into a video and quite a lot of the top isn’t all that interesting tbh. Such a great mountain with so many options 👌

@@McTrailRider You've some backlog of vids I need to catch up on, a mate of mine put me on to your channel- he recently did the Linn to Ben Macdui (in/out via Etchachan) was an "interesting" day(!) lol.... I was done with MTB and was mainly road biking(too much pushing and walking lol) until I turned 50 and got a KTM e-bike....total and absolute game changer, had some big days out on the Cairngorms with the second battery too, it's opened up the whole place though requires decent planning as H-A-B and carrying are a nightmare!!!
