I have a Military Macaw and I just love him. Once you have a bird like this you will always want one. I'm going to build a large greenhouse in my backyard now that I am retiring and I am going to get my Macaw a mate and a couple of friends to live in there. I don't think they will have room to fly but they will be among tropical plants which I also love. I can't wait.

AniJam ive always wanted a hyacinth macaw. Would love to adopt one from nest at 3-4 wks and handfeed. Im adopting a blue& gold in a few days. Im doing as much research as possible. Most people go into adopting birds with no clue about their care. Are you still breeding ?

yeah they reach maturity when they are 3 to 4 years, and reproduce once every 2 years, yes exactly like rabbits.

Yes I agree.But these films were made 20 years ago! And the forests are still being chopped down for profit! So wildlife has no chance for survival! Blame the loggers not Me! I did my best to save a species from extinction! What have you done honey?

People are exploiting the wildlife as a result these beautiful birds are becoming endangered, some have already.When we let them in the wild they will become extinct forever.Thats why Aviculturists keep these birds inorder to preserve the species giving good care and love for them.

Yea but same as captive snakes they live longer in captivity than in the wild , as long as you're taking the proper care i dont see an issue
