MacBook Air M1 vs. Mac mini M1 Performance Observations

Since the air doesn’t have a fan. Have you observed whether it gets hotter than the mini when running any of your processor intensive programs?

I've exported multiple 4K video projects through Compressor and it never even warmed up my crotch! It's INCREDIBLE how the MacBook Air M1 doesn't even seem to become noticeably warm. #AppleSilicon.

Honestly, if I only had one, it would be the MacBook Air M1. It’s the perfect blend of performance and portability and I don’t feel gimped at all, when I edit 4K videos on it instead of my Mac mini M1.

Can you test lumafusion on both of them and Bluetooth connectivity on both still undecided

@@IrixGuy it’s video editing software like Final Cut Pro made specifically for IPad but now that M1 can do iPad apps

It is indeed! I went with the MacBook Air because it's a smaller form-factor, has the same processor, comes in gold and doesn't have the touch bar on the keyboard.

@@IrixGuy I edit most of my videos on the laptop. I thought the fan would cut down on thermal issues, but I honestly don’t think it makes much of difference. I never use the “gimmick bar”. I think the air may just be marginally thinner but not enough to worry about. Not sure about that gold...little to much bling for me!!

Good point about the fan! Stay tuned for my MacBook Air M1 thermal test video where I exported about an hour’s worth of 4K videos through Compressor. The laptop may have gotten slightly warm at best. Yeah, gold is blingy LOL
