Yes on the suited Tomax and Xamot! Looking forward to the ReAction O-rings of them later this year. Would happily pick them up in the classified range as well.

I am excited for the Super7 o-rings also. I heard rumors that Fresh Monkey Fiction might release a blue suit in 6”, so… that might be something to keep in mind.

You are correct about Dr Mindbender he had a black cape and big silver cobra logo in the middle of it. Loved the old school figure, still trying to convince myself to buy the classified one.

Good overview. Classified got me back into Joe for the first time since I was a teen and gave my collection to my cousin. My method is to get one of every character, but not every figure (e.g. one Baroness, one Copperhead) though I have made some exceptions (e.g. regular and PD Destro which I switch out periodically) and have done a bit of Army building (Vipers and CGs that surround CoCo).

That sounds like a reasonable and sane way to approach this line. Trying to go after every figure can drive a person nuts.

I also started collecting the Classified line from the very beginning #00. And I would have never guessed that the line would be this far within 4.5 years. I love it!

I admit I was an early naysayer. Told several people that we would not get very many figures and not to get expectations up. So glad I was wrong. Had to apologize to a few people also. Let’s keep going! My next highly desirable want is Barricade.

This is an amazing review, but since you brought up the ' network,' blue variant cobra commander, I have to add that hascrap ripped me after it was initially put on their site way,way back when the line began. I had it on preorder for more than a year when it supposed to be shipped I contacted hascrap and they got back to me telling me I hadn't paid, when I had. So they tried billing me twice more and cancelled my preorder. Had to shut off my debit card twice! What a hassle hascrap caused me. And from that moment on I vowed revenge! No longer a normal human, I lurk in the shadows, stalking the alley's and streets , waiting for the day that Lenny and piggy will feel my wrath and crap like that 😂

I hope Hasbro repaints the Crimson Baroness to give us a proper Classic look for her. I also wouldn’t mind a blue version, or G1 Chameleon for that matter

Awesome line up. I have most of these, except for the HISS which I failed to get :(. And the two other Classified Cobra Commanders. I am like you in that I mildly army build. Minimum 2 or 3 with a leader/officer. One thing that gets overlooked, is that Storm Shadow (classic version) and the original Cobra Officer both have an extra set of articulation over all other classified figures to date. They both have forearm swivel. At some point they must have felt like it was too much cost and cut that feature out. :( Then one other odditiy. If ever I could ask Lenny a question, I would ask WHY.....oh WHY....with the legion of tooled parts and their penchant for reuse.....have they NEVER reused the Cobra Officer torso. Why? Even when they re-painted Python Patrol or 788 Fire team or even the Stinger driver.....the original Officer torso is absent. It has the rank on it -____-. I wonder if it was lost or damaged somehow.

Your review of these figures are very nice. Thank you. I use lady figures for drivers in the Trouble Bubble and Hiss because so many of the guy figures are bulky and I don't want to stress the seat belts. Have a great day.

i think its worth noting that a lot of difference in the modern styling and 80s looking figures is that the 80s looking ones are on retro cardbacks, they're intentionally vintage looking. althought with newer releases that also get retro cardbacks like the crimson guard, sometimes its so similar that maybe there just isnt a point in doing it

28:07 hasbro is synonymous with reuse I never thought they wouldn’t create all the sub teams to reuse figure molds, it’s quite common with marvel legends for years

Classified was my first 6” Hasbro line so I am not as familiar with how they did things prior to classified. Repaints back in the 80s were to get popular figures back out in the market. I have learned that these days it is a money saving option. It’s an interesting different figure world than it use to be.

The most recent viper was the crimson viper, before him the 3 pack. Python was second release.

They didn't use the Crimson Baroness arms on the Retro one because the Retro one came out first, and so those arms didn't exist yet. The Crimson Baroness head won't work on any of the other figures because the peg hole is much smaller, unfortunately.

I agree. That POC figure was great. I think the Classified head is the most disappointing part of the figure.

@@MacDowin yes I saw the packaging art and I thought hey they got the faceplate right! It sort of has a nanoviper vibe but than the actual figure in hand. 1) mask faceplate let down 2) dreads hinder articulation 3) Zartans chest plate looks way better than his bulky vest. 4) the animal pelt around the waist is clunky. 5) missing his net and other cleaving weapons. This may be the first figure I let go of in hopes of a "retro" version which in his case wld be poc. Only this figure and falcons head and the gummy weapons my only complaints about the line so far. Everything else imo is awesome sauce!

The python officer 2 is based off the original python officer. The first python officer they came out with the green shirt was the mislabeled one and is what the original python trooper looked like. I guess they labeled the second one as the officer to try and right the ship.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but you should be able to hand wash most of the dye that’s transferring to the plastic out of the cape.

36:45 in the military there are different ranks for officers. Following that logic i don't think it's outrageous that a militaristic organization would apply a similar structure.

The crimson baroness head does not fit on the baroness’. I had to take a neck from the Cobra Valkyrie. Also had to paint it

I will. As soon as the last figure is released this year. So late December or early January is my goal. Mutt arrived here on December 31, lol, literally the last day of the year. I need to check into things again, but the Alpine wave might be the last for this year. I still need to grab Iron Grenadier and IG BAT.

NOTE: Range Viper was a Wal-Mart exclusive, which is worse than Target exclusives because Wal-Mart doesn’t even stock GI Joe Classified in stores, and they have very low stock online. Range Vipers sold out online very fast, and have basically been $50+ for some time now. Shame for another troop builder to go the way of the Cobra Island Trooper years later. Didn’t they learn their lesson?

Some Walmarts don’t stock Classified but some definitely do. I’ve already found the new wave of Classified two different times at Walmart. I never found the Range Viper in the store though…..I just checked every day on their website to get the ones that I have.

That’s a good point. I have seen a few exclusives on Target shelves, I have never seen a Classified exclusive at a Walmart. Some of these short run exclusives amaze me. Don’t they want more money?

I had a booker T metal figure legends that broke right outa the package pretty much I made a pin out of a thin nail I took and basically scoped out the hip / upper leg joint wich is what caused it to break there was a little bit of access plastic and paint that had to be cut away any way it took this small screw and basically used it to drill into both sides of the broken peg part of the joint and tgan I tapped a homade pin I made outa a thin nail added a tad of glue at the vary joint of the origional hip / upper leg joint kinda waited a bit and than I shit you not I suprised my self it list a dad and not much but it lost a tad of the origional movement but seams to be holding up good enough to Play with the dang thing little kid style sorta brutal

Hey the Serena figure you're talking about her hair pieces those are not modern and vintage style that is supposed to be representing the two versions that came out between the two different years because the first version that was released on the same figure had a different hairstyle than the second version that was released in the when when she was part of the old wave and the new wave came out if you understand what I'm saying so Hasbro would release figures for on their card backs it would show a list of the figures that were released that year and it would show a list of the figures that were released the year before rotating the roster by removing the ones that were from the year previously to the the wave so like if you had let's say you had zartan come out in 85 or 84 well the 84 wave would rotate off in 86 when the '86 wave come out so zoranna in the 80 I think 86 wave had a different hair piece or a different head sculpt than the zarana that came out in the 87 wave when she was about to be rotated off the off the the roster

No, it is a modern hair style. You are thinking about the two '86 figure heads. One had earrings an a later version did not. It was mostly the same hairdo, but the face was slightly modified and earrings removed. Appreciate you checking out this video.

Vypra is not an exact repaint she has different feet and arms. No the good guy ninja force “arctic” storm shadow has no cobra logos on him. And never should have had a cobra sigil in his packaging.
