Hello all! I want to tell you that the 12M is a little exagerated, and is a keep-selling practice for powder products. For example an eyeshadow palette can be used up to 2-3 years. If you really use them for more, it can become dangerous. Usually if a prodicts expires, it smells different and changes it s texture. For lipstick you can go up to 2 years, if you are carefull. Only for fundations/concelars is good to actually use them as the pack says.

For me, mascara and lipglosses are the only things that I'm super cautious with. Powders and products with a pump dispenser, I only throw out if it looks or smells bad lol. Anyway, super satisfying declutter video! :)

I love how everything you were decluttering was old and “expired” and nostalgic- but this is all the stuff I still own and still use every day when I get ready in the morning. This is the first declutter that was ACTUALLY a declutter 😂 I have one small table top acrylic with 5 drawer (like the one you have on your desk) and I still think what I have is too much because realistically everything expires in 6-12 months so I still won’t use what I have in that time. Besides KZbin being your job I don’t understand how people have so much 🥲 it’s expensive too

That is a huge waste of makeup....This is why people should not hoard makeup,rather its your job or not to be a beauty blogger.If u know its too much for 1 person then you know you don't need it.A minimal makeup collection is all 1 person needs.It's like Laura lee said 1 time too much makeup in a person's collection can be cause anxiety especially when you do declutters. So you are so right when you said why keep if your not gonna use it! People should never had a huge makeup collection unless they know they can use it all without it going to waste.

I have done this it took approx 2months & wow it is so freeing! Every nook & cranny cleared out. Give to charity or put clothing books etc on eBay so made money for things I can see I need. I am now in with photos which is a huge job & I am thinking will take another few months to do 🙃

I know what you mean. I'd love to be on a pr list and get tons of makeup. I'd figure ways of sterilizing it and give it away. Or they should contact the KZbinr and ask if they really want it. There are a few pr lists that do exactly that. There is some makeup I don't use, if you are in the US I can try and get it to you.

I don’t take much notice of use-by dates except for products around the eyes and mouth. Blushes and highlighters probably are good for 10 years; as long as you don’t live in a humid climate. I recently threw out some old eyeshadows as there was a fine film of mould on them from being in a damp cabinet (last May it rained almost every day). Great decluttering!

I don't give into the hype that powdered palettes or products expire in 6 - 12 months. I consider it more like a best buy date. I've owned several that smell, look, & most of all perform perfectly fine. I'm definitely NOT throwing out my $329 Natasha Denona or a $125 Danessa Myricks palette; just because it hits a 12 month expiration date. If it looks bad, smells werid, or performs poorly. I'll toss it immediately. Cream products are a whole differen't story though. They expire much faster. I've never had an eye infection, acne breakout, or skin problems due to my makeup.

I agree with you. I am starting to believe that these influencers get financial incentives to "declutter" "expired" makeup. They probably get tax write-offs. Non influencers like us do not get financial benefits of throwing out makeup just because it is "expired" or they "are not reaching for it". This is why we should not always believe influencers when they do makeup reviews.
