When I get that struck matches smell, I use my aerator and that helps a lot.

Isn't wonderful to have your own hedgerow in your back garden ..... you could have been out on the downs!! Did look very pale even in those dark conditions. I think the most I can pay in my local supermarket is less than about £7!! All the best!!
