Did anyone else start carting this up to order from PCB Way? Seems like the cost is going to be a lot higher than $300 and that doesn't include a donor GBC. I put the titanium shell in the cart and that alone was over $300. Potential total build cost almost $900. Flex connector to the driver carting for over $100. Must be doing something wrong?
@MachoNachoProductions2 ай бұрын

I've never understood why so many two button console projects use the up-right ba angle when up-left ab is superior. Having both buttons at the natural holding angle of your thumb and without having to roll is just better imo
@leggomyfroggo2 ай бұрын
imo, the up-left orientation only makes sense for platformers where you hold one of the buttons to run. For anything where you need discrete taps on the face buttons, I find the standard orientation more natural, and that's most of the GB games I play.

I got one of these from a store on Etsy fully assembled, and I love it, however a few things bug me. Curious if Tito or anyone else has noticed these things and has any recommendations for improving the build: 1) Cartridges tend to not sit flush against the back of the screen section, I think because the SP cartridge slot it's perfectly parallel with the board when it was soldered in. 2) My A and B buttons can twist when pushed in, allowing them to get stuck. B seems more prone to this (when running in Mario and rolling my thumb over to jump) but A can do this too. 3) The right side of my device has a clicking sound when I press A (or the very edge of the case) hard enough...no, it's not the button click, it's ANOTHER click in addition. 4) Only certain cartridge types seem to work reliably for games to boot up. The Color-only games seem the worst at booting cleanly, but OG and DX cartridges seem much better. I've opened this up and unscrewed everything so many times now... I also didn't get a nice press connector for my battery, instead the two wire ends were soldered to the tiniest of pads, and I of course broke one during the many disassemblies. I've resoldered it, but it's crazy small, I can barely see it. The device functions, but the issues above make it problematic to play certain games. If there's any advice, I'd love to hear what you think. Thanks!
