"Gold dog Macks" do not have all "Mack proprietary components front to rear". All it takes is a Mack engine. In the U.S. you'll see "gold dogs" on Macks with Eaton-Fuller "proprietary components" behind the engine.

Until you break down and need a sensor for the def/exhaust. We have a few macks and deleted all of them. Nothing but regen problems.

I believe too much HP for a manual (RR). Saw a story a while back on Mack logger which was 'only' 600hp because he wanted (needed) the manual crawler gear options for the application. More HP isn't always best...
