Always wondered why some live events sound better than others. Even with same artist. Amazing how much better it sounds.

Excellent looking for a small mixer for solo act guitar and vocals. Starting about 6:40 You sold me when you did this section with the guitar and vocals and reverb. Best demo for what I was looking to do with a small compact mixer.

Hello John! Will it work if you add Bass Guitar on chanel 3? Thanks! 🤘
@johnhoolihan9452 Жыл бұрын
Hi there. If the bass guitar does NOT have active pickups you will have to plug it into the Hi Z input on channel 1 same as an electric guitar. If it has active pickups, you can probably plug it into channel 2, 3, or 4.

Hello there, Thank you for great demo video, voice and song....and taking advantage of you experience I would like to know if it is possible to connect this console to passive speakers without the interface that you connected it to? Greetings!
@johnhoolihan94527 ай бұрын
You would have to connect it to an amplifier and then to passive speakers. Or directly to powered speakers with built in amplifier.

Can effects be set differently for each channel or are they universal?
@johnhoolihan94522 жыл бұрын
Effects are global across all channels. However you can control how much effect is on each channel using the FX send knob. Please subscribe!

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure you must be aware on preset #3. Guitar sounds great but your vocals were reverbed way too much. Listening to you with phone & earphones. Just FYI. Can you reduce the vocal reverb on the the vocal mixer channel?
@johnhoolihan94522 жыл бұрын
Yes the large amount of reverb on the vocal channel was just for demonstration purposes. Each channel has an FX send where you can adjust the amount of reverb for each channel. Please subscribe!

Can you put 18-inch amplified speakers and what impedance these speakers should handle each one
@johnhoolihan94523 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Yes you can connect any powered speaker to the 1/4 inch "Main Out" or "Monitor Send" line level outputs on the mixer. The impedance does not matter since the speaker is internally powered. Please subscribe!

Your voice and song reminds me of Tom Petty. Nice song. I think the guitar sounds a bit thin and has too much piezo quacky tone to my ears. Maybe add some bass remove some treble. Also, I thought regardless of whether your acoustic has a preamp you would use the hi-z input function. Have you tried doing that? Thanks for sharing your video!
@johnhoolihan94522 жыл бұрын
Thanks glad you enjoyed the song! I think I left the EQ pretty much flat. Agree you probably don’t have to use Hi Z input for acoustic with preamp. It’s more for connecting an electric guitar directly. Please subscribe!

Nice informative video! I have a pickup microphone mounted on my acoustic guitar which is connected to an amp. What do I need to output the microphone and guitar into the same amp?
@johnhoolihan9452 Жыл бұрын
Plug the acoustic pickup into channel 1 of the Mackie mixer and you will need to press the "Hi Z" button in order to match the high impedance of the acoustic pickup. (NOTE: Acoustic guitars with builtin pickup systems have small preamps so the "Hi Z" setting is not needed). Connect the XLR cable of the microphone to channel 2 of the Mackie mixer. Connect the MAIN out of the mixer to the input of the amplifier.

what is better using mixer or using guitar amp for guitar?
@johnhoolihan94523 жыл бұрын
For acoustic guitar use the line level mixer input. For electric guitar it’s generally better to use a guitar amp. However you can also use the Hi Z input of the mixer along with your effects unit or pedals.

@@johnhoolihan9452 for electrical guitar is it good if i used guitar amp and put a mic infront to amplify the signal for a large event, do you think it reduce the quality of the sound?
@johnhoolihan94523 жыл бұрын
@@edgieboydelarosa8963 Yes this is fine. For large venue, simply mic the guitar amp and run the XLR mic cable to one of the the mixer channels. Please subscribe !!!
