I have the same exact color 06’ SR5. I literally laughed out loud at the AC control comment “takes me a minute to figure out what I want” but yea, the biggest difference I saw between the SR5 and limited here was the leather, heated seats, and passenger AC control. Everything else is the same which just shows whichever model you go with, these things bullet proof and little tanks on wheels.

Great looking Runner. This Gen does NOT have a locking diff though. Toyota calls this a locking center diff but it really only locks the transfer case to 50/50 front and rear drive shaft split. Front and rear diffs are open. They used an electronic braking setup to simulate diff lock. I understand these are great on pavement but less so off road.

A good head unit should always connect with steering wheel controls.
@EcBuddy1234 жыл бұрын
I have about the same mileage on my urban runner package 4x4. Yours looks a bit better cared for though. Also you can still connect the steering wheel controls but you have to buy an added adapter. Also on none jbl versions the rear pillar speakers are mirrors to help you when parking or reversing, like old school van blind spot mirrors. Also all 4runners of these years have the hood struts. Was also interesting is brakes. You could get larger front calipers as options on limiteds (also rear air bags), sports had the larger brakes standard, sr5s had smaller ones. But on all you can upgrade to the larger calipers and even better upgrade to 5th Feb calipers that are less prone to seizing and also just a bit larger, which is what I did. Also suspension is so similar to Tacomas and 5th Gen 4runners, you can easily swap it in.

First thing you want to do to a 4th gen (besides lift and tires) is restore the headlights. 4th gen's always get hazy oxidized headlights and a quick restoration job immediately makes the vehicle look way nicer. Just remember to put some kind of UV coating over them so they stay nice.

@spencersteele73 жыл бұрын
That seems to be right on the money. If it seems clean and no rust etc then I’d go forward with it, as long as that’s what you are looking for! I think the V6 had really good torque for what it is. Between towing and going through deep snow it’s been fine. Other benefit is the difference between timing belt and timing chain, you shouldn’t really need to replace the timing chain on the V6 from my understanding. I could be wrong so double check that statement. Unless you’re towing or in high elevation where you feel like you need more power get a V8, otherwise I think you’ll be very happy with the V6! Thanks for watching.

SR5 is a base model. Sport is in the middle with little more features than SR5 like X-REAS suspension, 17 to 18inch wheels, moon roof, and running boards, but limited is a fully loaded trim with all the bells and whistles. Like if you compare it to Camry trims: Camry L is just a base model, Camry SE is in the middle with little more features than L but XLE OR XSE is a fully loaded trim with all luxury features in it.
