A brilliant diversion, suicide missions, booby-trapped gas tanks and Max using surveillance to survey the battlefield before even approaching the compound! Agreed. I think the the main thing movies today lack is realism. The interaction between the characters in MM2 feels natural and not forced. It feels real. Fury Road on the otherhand the the rest of the modern pretentious film industry is incapable of writing characters anymore. Notice how the entire MM2 cast is white. Wouldn't happen today, that's "racist". Back then they just made movies to be entertaining as much as possible, that was their job. Now they treat movies like a necessity of life. Pay up idiot, make sure to watch our terribly written film with hidden political agendas laced with CGI. Mad Max 2 was pure masculine energy. Movies like MM2 will never be made again, not even close.

For you people taking cinema studies in school. The antagonists entering the abandoned camp is one of the few shots in the film that is not mitigated through the consciousness of Max. One of the key details of the explosion in this scene is that there's no music until the end. And I think that he knew that he would be the best chance they had to get what he thought was their most valuable resource out to safety. thing is, you absolutely need warriors to win the war, but you also absolutely need hippies to win the peace. Only the US had both of it and we all know how the cold war went.

In the first 30 seconds you see a cowboy in the background behind Max... was that intended to be a dummy to confuse the attackers ?

One of the best action movies ever. However, I always asked what Papagallo meant, in his one man vehicle. He should have at least one shooter with him.
@opag787 ай бұрын
cars itself are used as weapons throughout the Mad Max series. Just rolling over or ramming something at high speed is releasing enourmous powers and Papagello's car is designed for ramming. It is basically the post apocalyptic version of an armoured knight on a war horse. Having a car and shooter would be a chariot and these are used as well, but you lose maneuverability and speed. The original Mad Max trilogy is suprisingly well thought out. It is much less fantasy than the newer movies.
@MrRothfux-ts6nm7 ай бұрын
@@opag78 The car is light. In rough terrain, it would be very difficult to acquire the speed needed to do real damage by ramming. And he had no protection for himself, so he would do more harm to himself than to the other vehicle.

If you look closely, there's room for at least one more passenger behind the driver's seat.
