Despite the mediocre writing and acting in the first half of the movie or so… I was actually digging it. There’s at least something there. A premise that intrigued me. Then… it fell off the rails faster than you can say “with great power comes great responsibility”. It’s a shame that Sony is ruining the reputation of these characters.

I think this will spell the end of the Sony Spiderman universe. I cant see Craven the Hunter doing any better and Venom 3 could be the last in the series. When this movie flops, Sony will likely see the writing on the wall these spinoffs and focus only on sequels to Spiderverse and No Way Home.

I think the basic premise of this movie had promise if they just removed all of the Spiderman-ness of it and just made a sci-fi time travel movie. That can't save bad acting or directing but I think that would've helped inform better choices on both aspects if they weren't shoehorning in Spider-verse characters.

Venom 1 was really good, venom 2 was disappointing, morbius was a joke, madame is just insanely bad, Kraven the animal rights activist doesn’t look very good. Wtf is Sony doing. How can they make these incredible Spider-man games but almost make these incredibly bad movies? When is it time for Sony to start execs to be terminated publicly from the top down? If they fuck up the god of war show, I’m going to loose it.

Thanks for the review Kristian as ever. I have just seen the movie. When a movie sucks like this I usually see who wrote it only to find no less than seven writers did! Add to fact the lead writer is Matt Sazama responsible for such atrocities as "Morbius", "Power Rangers" and "Gods of Egypt", "Citizen Kane", this is not. I agree with your out of the theatre reaction, Sony's Marvel live action pictures are just a hot mess, they have no idea what they are doing with these horrendous Spider-Man spin off movies. How can such shite be greenlit? I thought the movie had at it's core an interesting concept, a super hero who doesn't wear a cape or shoots webs but can actually see into the future, but the ham fisted clunky way they try to reveal this super power is very jarring. The acting is terrible, Dakota Johnson (Who I too have always rated) is as wooden as a rocking horse. Sweeney (Last seen in Anyone But You), Merced (Dora the Explorer) and O'Connor (Ghostbusters After Life) are all decent up and coming actors but are underserved by a script that was clearly written by committee. The dialogue is laughable and the chemistry seemed really forced. As for the villain, well the less said the better. For a super hero movie as well there is a scant amount of action scenes, and when they do happen (because I was not invested in the characters)they were just noise. This movie is not only bad, it's boring. I could go on and on, but I have a life. My Verdict: One to Miss (Equal to a 1 out of 5).

He’s a recognisable villian and was made compelling and relatable character by Tom Hardy’s acting and a descent script. I saw this movie last night on Valentine’s Day with a female friend of mine. The dialogue was terrible, the acting was meh, and a lot of the scenes were just plain silly. That being said, we both enjoyed the movie. ❤😂

How many times have we seen a good actor save a terrible movie? How often do people like Kristian state a movie was terrible, but 'X' really shines in it. So yes, it could be the directing, but also it could simply be that the actors just aren't good enough. More likely its a combination of the two.

The reviews reflect the same lack of thought by Sony in making this movie. Not all comic book characters have a wealth of well written stories to pull from to make an adequate movie. Feels like the tragic train wreck of a movie that was The Marvels, absolutely Marvel's worst film. Sony comes across as a company willing to exploit the success of No Way Home/Spider-Man's comic book history solely for $$$ at the expense of coherent writing or character development. This doesn't give me much to hope for when Kraven comes out, hoping Venom 3 is fun. This also shows that studios are making assumptions about the audience reception for their content.

When does Sony throw in the towel and just give all the rights back to Marvel Studios. I don't think that both Venom 3 and Kraven the Hunter aren't going to do that good either because this movie ruined those other movies and people aren't going to see those 2 movies the executives at Sony are really dumb and way over their heads with this Spider-verse spinoff movies that no one ever asked for it's just off peeling and the stories for these movies don't make any sense and Venom is supposed to be an R rated movie and they watered him down and they really watered down Carnage in that 2nd movie I really don't give a fly shit about these spinoff movies and I'm a massive diehard Marvel, Spider-man fan, but I just think that Sony is trying to sabotage Spider-man and what Kevin Feige has planned for just Spider-man. I really think that Marvel Studios needs to come up with a deal and tell Sony that this spider-verse isn't working and don't have a clue what their doing, and Sony needs to stop making these stupid spinoff movies because they all suck except for the animated movies that's about it. Sony is already trying to sabotage Spider-man 4 by having the 3 Spider-men back together while both Feige and Iger want Spider-man to be more grounded and I really do think that Spider-man should be grounded we've had 3 movies where he had help and Sony now wants to redo that again it's not what people are asking for save Andrew and Maguire for Secret Wars don't have them show up in Spidey 4.

Spider-man NWH was in the MCU at that time Sony was playing nice, now their not playing nice at all and I do think that Marvel Studios will get all the rights to Spider-man, plus let's not forget that the next 2 movies that Sony has coming up aren't going to do that good at all because this movie is going to have a bad taste in peoples mouths and I also think that people aren't excited for those 2 movies anymore and their both are going to fail sorry to say that, but it's going to happen and that's when Marvel Studios is going to make an offer to take full control of Spider-man.
