Madame Web trailer is out as a new Spider-Man spin off and the media wasn't enthused. Everything from bad acting, poor plot and characters that bear no resemblance to the comic books it has every sign of disaster. Even the media isn't defending this one and that's impressive from just one trailer! Now there are weird contractual rights issues as this is a Sony Spider-Man movie, but they can't use Spider-Man as a character unless Marvel makes a none MCU movie for Sony. So we have a spiderverse, without the main character, with all of these side characters that REQUIRE Spider-Man in them to make sense! What a deranged business arrangement, but as it looks like this is the least of Madame Web's issues, this movie should be a fun one! But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Again why would a majority male audience care at all about this movie? Here’s the thing-as a diehard *”crappy movie aficionado,”* I can immediately deflate the whole _“iT wAs MaDe BaD oN pUrPoSe!”_ excuse… *Intentionally bad* movies _HAVE not, CAN not and WILL not_ ever become *”cult classics”* -simply because _intentionality_ is the literal antithesis of what makes “bad movies,” so amazing!! It requires the genuine *earnestness* of someone trying their absolute best to make something wonderful -and either due to their own actions/decisions, or through a series of unfortunate circumstances-they unintentionally end up with a giant bedazzled turd instead. That pure desire to *“make something amazing,”* only for it to end up as a steaming pile -is 100% the most vitally necessary element for turning terrible movies into timeless, endearing, entertaining and beloved classics, with cult followings. Countless people have tried to “do it on purpose” - but none have actually succeeded. Even previously adored *bad filmmakers* will immediately fall out of favor with their fans and be abandoned, the moment they become *”self aware”* and try to intentionally make *bad movies...* Because most people can spot a desperate forgery from a mile away (which is the exact reason why almost everything in Hollywood/entertainment is currently failing….) But using the old *”they did it on purpose”* theory was a solid attempt to “save face” over just how awful that movie looks. She gets a few points for effort. 🤣🤷♀️

@@thatoneguyonpc1677 I think Spider-man is a product of science not mysticism in his original form. That said If they want to throw of brand Indiana Jones and spy stuff into the back story around his parents I can't say I especially mind.... as the thing about comics is the audience is now so tiny hardly anyone will have read anything that was said after the comic crash. Comics are now like being a fan of a Niche band compared to being a fan of Elvis or The Beatles at their height (metaphorically speaking). Batman was famous for decades even before they made the 1960's TV show as so many people used to read comics. Now the numbers are tiny.. even when they have the options to pirate them people don't bother. Ironically I do know some people into comics and they tend to read vintage runs only even if they were made decades before they were born.

Their is all kinds of problems trying to make a feature length film about Madame Web, first of all, she's not originally portrayed as a young woman, but an old one, and two she is often a secondary support character, she is often a guide that gives Spider-Man advice, or a mission, I do not believe their is enough behind her character to make a full length movie, she also not usually a main character. Out of all the characters to make a full length movie about, she makes among the least amount of sense, as a cameo, or an easter egg in a Spider-Man film, she could be really cool, but not as the main draw. It really feels Marvel is pulling names out of a hat, and just making movies about any character they pull.

Just a thought since this movie seems to have both of the characters that become Madame Web at different times in the comics, why didn't they make it a generational story. First Madame Web was iconic looking in both comic and animated, they should have kept the old mysterious Madame Web as the old mysterious mentor, Julia Carpenter (as the second Madame Web) should have been the main young character who thru the movie becomes Madame Web. And Unlike this upcoming movie it would keep the original Madame Web as a supernatural almost spooky figure like she should be if this movie wants any money.

Impossible, a modern woke movie could never show the heroine needing help from a man. That's not her powers she just sees events that can happen. It's not a re-do situation she haves where she or the spider women die and she restarts from beginning. Madam web in the comics even the 90's animated Spider-Man show was a Mutant since birth who was blind and had psychic abilities to see into the future and predict happens. Even steer people into the right direction. The only reason she's even tied to Spider-Man is she constantly helps Spider-Man and other spider characters. As well had one of the Spider Women be her successor. Also her live support system that was built by her husband resembled spider legs. Either way the movie did a shitty way of giving her the most basic backstory and made her powers feel generic af

The villain is named Tarantula. He comes from an era in the comics where J. Michael Straczynski (of Babylon 5 fame) was writing Spider-Man, and had decided that a spider-god had been behind the radioactive spider that gave Spider-Man his powers. Tarantula was related to a cult that worshipped that spider-god. Madame Web doesn't just see the future; she's tied into the Spider-verse. Yes, _that_ Spider-verse. The other girls are also drawn from the comics. One went by the codename “Spider-Woman”, and the other called herself “Araña”, which is Spanish for “spider-girl”.

This film would be great as an origin story for Madame Web, However, for it to work as a great origin story, they'd have to get rid of the other spiders, and focus on this one. They'd also have to get rid of the plot, and the whole "spider bit her too" angle, while tying it to the spider-verse and advancing it. Example: Protagonist: Madame Web. Antagonist: Inheritors (Naamurah, female). After the whole Doctor strange fiasco, from the same universe as Spiderman (2012), Madame web is thrown out of her universe, into earth-001. A very dangerous world for any spider, as it is under the control of the inheritors. Her goal is to get the heck out of that universe, into literally any other. Luckily, she's got the Web of destiny to guide her. But, she has no idea how to actually use the damn thing, and therefore has to experiment as she goes along. Eventually, she beats the inheritor and barely makes it into the 616, with inheritors having known about her. Then using the web of destiny, sends out an SoS that essentially tells every spider that there's danger, and most importantly, alerts Tom Holland's Spider-Man to her location. That's how you write this one.
