I went to the Nov 24, 1981 concert in Montreal to see Queen for my 24 B-day. One of my best memories. Sadly Freddie also passed on my B-day 10 years later. I play this song and light a candle every Nov 24 for him. Last month was 41 years. This song was in the original movie Highlander with Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown.

Freddie in concerts always sung Live. They all did back then. None of the playbacks or autotune of today's world. All completely live. And yes, there were times Freddie sung a bump note, or had a bad throat...but when you did those huge round the world tours back then, singing Live for nigh on 2 hours a night or every other night for 9 months... your voice is going to go at some point. People forget this. Freddie's stage present is 2nd to none. That man had an Aura.

Brian May wrote this song for the Queen soundtrack for the movie Highlander. It is so beautiful and was a love song in the movie, as the main character who is immortal considers his life and has to watch his wife age and pass away while he remains young. Everything and everyone he loves leaves and he must remain. Not something I would want to endure. The band "Queen" and all things officially Queen are a business comprised of Freddie, Brian, John and Roger and all profits are split four ways. So even now, John gets his one-fourth and Freddie's estate gets their one-forth of everything that Queen does from t-shirts to tours, to the Movie Bohemian Rhapsody, to videos, to new releases of vaulted music. For this reason, in order to include any other band members they must use the Queen + name so that that singer or other band members can actually be paid a percentage or a salary. This is also why no new music has been written under the name "Queen" but rather just under the name of the songwriter. Roger, Brian and Adam have talked about writing something together but I think the legal aspect has prevented it. Brian recently said that he thinks that he and Roger have one more tour in them before calling it a wrap. I think they will still perform at special events but they are both in their 70s and touring takes a lot out of a person. Thank you for your reaction.

I know Brian has re released his two solo albums and Roger has recently released a new album and they're in their names as its independent But other than the last three albums which they are all equally credited and share royalties Im assuming all the new box sets.. But previous to that the writter of the song received the royalties Has that changed now that all Queen songs are equally shared for royalties? Has anyone discussed what happens when they die or when Mary / Beach dies? I think there would be legal issues with making music with Adam I dont know if John and Mary get a share of tour money.. If they make new music would it be split 5 ways after paying the musicians... I dont know what happened when they did tours with Paul they also made an album together Personally I think if its just two of them with new musicians and singer and new material shouldn't be under the Queen name but seperate like their solo albums They did try to record a song with Adam but it didnt work out

his facial structure probably does play a factor, and overcoming a bit of a lisp as well. Causing him to ennunciate beautifully and project wonderfully. His vocals are so dang crystal clear ... then he adds that vibrato and natural talent and lots of practice and you have, Freddie! It's a kind of magic.

Bohemian rhapsody, ohh gosh... As you know I have 3 childs, all 3 learn this song in very young age. We all love Queen, and this particular song, all family know the lyrics and sing together. He was an amazing and unique human being. Rami Malek represented him so well. Thank you once again. Love 💕

I am so, so glad that he sang this song exactly like the studio version. Freddy is known for changing up the song, and and most of the time it's amazing (see the effing entire 1981 concert in Montreal and Live Aid). But this was a new song so I assume that's why he didn't.

Who Wants to Live Forever” was composed by Brian and sung on the album version as a duet between himself and Freddie. Synths parts are played on a Yamaha DX-7 by Brian and in the studio version, the orchestra was arranged and conducted by Michael Kamen. John Deacon did not participate in the original recording (but the video features him playing a white double bass), and Roger Taylor played some drum-machine parts and contributed backing vocals. This song is part of the collection of songs that Queen wrote for the movie "Highlander". "Who Wants To Live Forever" was written as somewhat of a “love theme” for the movie, as it adds to the subplot of the movie. FYI - "Highlander" - An immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his immortal opponent, a murderously brutal barbarian who lusts for the fabled "Prize". It was a 1986 movie that starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown.

I guess that they deliberately avoided the singers that could resemble Freddie and chose AL because he was his own man - who could/can challenge them to be alive and do things differently - not be a copy. It's keeping them alive as musicians. Why do you choose a live version - where it is impossible to hear the whole song - because the multilayered parts can not be performed live. - I-ve never heard anybody criticizing Freddies looks - -on the countrary - - you can not sing - you are not in tune at all - - - you are spoiling it for those who have not heard it before. Of cause you can do as you please - but I'm not going to subscribe .
