Lucio, is the one who gave the definitive turning point to Italian pop. We are talking about an absolute genius capable of creating melodies that are still fully functional today. David Bowie, has often cited him as one of the greatest ever. Unfortunately, his limit was the language not suited ( at time) to the world record market. He also spent a brief period in the States, moving to California to try the American path, but the english and the lyrics of his works were not acceptable to the audience, so he decided to return to Italy.

Still today their music is starting point for people learning to sound guitar, and you'll be in italy during summer, and you'll go near a bonfire on the beach, you'll listen someone playing and singing their songs...

He was a Lucio's fan since he was a teenager and so we were listening his cassette expecially when we travelled around. What can i say? Lucio is still a legend even after all these years. He is famous cause he retired to private life at the top of his success, he didn't want to endure the stress of making tours or to appear on tv shows to promote his albums...no more interviews, nothing! Then he died really young at 55 and nobody knew he was ill...

Battisti literally had no voice, and he wasn’t even that much in tune, but was an awesome songwriter, a very talented melody maker, and had a partnership with a writer, Mogol, for the lyrics. Funny that most of his songs talked about bitches or one night stands. Battisti was so successful mainly for two reasons: he could communicate emotions very well through his singing, and had a very modern, international, writing style. He wrote songs for lots of other people, also.
