By the time they did Naruto vs ichgio both of the manga's were over at that point both characters were shown at their peak and Naruto's was better then ichigo's the anime didn't start until years after death battle did this one so I don't think they got it wrong its just the anime came out much later and gave ichigo feats he didn't have in the manga

It was a battle of hypnosis, Aizen should’ve won due to the hogyoku’s imortallity, or madara could’ve tied with a sealing Jutsu, but we never saw who saw what first, if madara saw Aizen’s shikai first he’s cooked, if Aizen saw Madara’s sharringan he’s cooked, as someone who loves both of these guys this death battle would be accurate/acceptable if Aizen wasn’t fused with the hogyoku, and if he saw madara’s sharringan first. That's why the Gotei 13 had to seal him in a prison for a sentence of thousands of years to actually keep him in check and even then, Aizen has been slowly leveling up his reiatsu to the point that TYBW he is massively more powerful than even in the fake karakura arc. Madara can't even touch him because Aizen is so much faster and stronger, plus with hax that will always keep him unable to deal any damage.
