Planet Hulk was always the greatest Jumping in Jumping out story for me. But the Immortal Hulk got me interested in earlier Hulk stories. Might look some of them up after finnishing reading the run!

Jumping on points aside, the moment in infinity when Captain Marvel attacks the Hulk and punches him a few miles down into the ground, just to have the Hulk punch her back into space will always be one of the best moments in comics ever.

It honestly wasn't as difficult to get into comics as I thought it would be. Given of course, that I've already knew a lot about it through watching these kind of videos and the MCU. But having a very good guidline certainly helped a lot.

The only hulk stories ive read are Planet Hulk and WW hulk which are fantastic IMO. I actually have The incredible Hercules to read in singles, and Ultimate destruction was a superb game on the PS2. I keep meaning to pick up Peter David run. Hulk is a character I really like, dark and surprisingly relatable to us all. We all have beasts inside hidden away in all of us waiting to claw their way out. He just shows his. Well thats how I see it, i'm a little weird after all.😂 Great video.🙂

Really loving your “Where to Start” series of videos, can’t wait to hopefully see more!! I just started hulk with Immortal Hulk recently. I’ve loved hulk as part of team or ensemble books but it’s harder for me to engage on his standalone stuff. I still want to commit to finishing the Peter David run eventually, but honestly you’ve really given a great few suggestions for starting points that I don’t always hear about! Another great video! @MadDoggComics thanks brother, as a huge Hulk fan I have never quite known where to start with the comics, as I grew up with the cartoons and movies but, much like other marvel heroes I grew up with and enjoyed, I just didn’t understand with decades of continuity where to start or I have started and immediately jumped off the ride so to speak because, I was confused but, now I have gotten a better understanding of at least one of my favorite characters Batman in comics at least but, other than him and Spidey as well as Superman I don’t know much so, this channel should help out a lot.

WE NEED A "MR. FIX-IT" MOVIE! The Grey Hulk, at night, in a suit! It fits perfectly into the blip years. When attempting to fix his arm, Banner unknowingly creates the Grey Hulk. He thinks he heals and cures himself. Except, at night, he turns into JOE FIX-IT. Joe leaves Banner cryptic messages on the mirror. Have him fight The Leader, (to close the loop) while having to deal with Joe. To win, he must meld Banner, Green Hulk and Grey Hulk into the Hulk he is now. It writes itself! GIVE US "MR. FIX-IT!" I read the Immortal Hulk, as a 'new Hulk reader' and it made zero sense to me, everything seemed to be a reference to something that I didn't know about. Personally I would never recoomend that book to new readers.

How about World War Hulk? Isn't that the prequel to Planet Hulk? Seems really fun too, though I admit I haven't read either one. Also, the Silver age Hulk (issue number 1) is more approachable than you might think (and this I have read) and with Epics and omnis reprinting that material it's easy to pick up!

My interest in the Hulk pretty much stops with Mantlo. He introduced many of the kinds of storylines that creative teams have been copying ever since: Hulk vs. the Marvel Universe, smart Hulk, Hulk on other planets/planes and Banner's history of being abused. The Crossroads Epic Collection is a great book to pick up, with great classic art by Sal Buscema. I also enjoyed the early Bruce Jones run, focused on Banner and the tension of trying to suppress the Hulk, like the old TV show, but the art on that run declined after the first few arcs. And, of course, the Banner series by Corben.

Nice picks there’s still plenty of hulk book I’ve yet to read and I really like the character that Loeb Rulk run is a guilty pleasure for me due a reread and planet hulk is the best story I’ve read it’s follow up was just okay I just hate JRJR artwork I used to own the Stan Lee hulk omni and it was a slow burn to get through sold it as soon as I was done so not something for me but others might like the silver age stuff and one day I might tackle that Peter David stuff Hopefully your doing well mate glad to see your still sticking with the where to start series (still waiting for that Howard the duck episode 😉)

@@lexofpower2822 Sure thing, read'em all and like what suits you. My contention is that some runs don't always honour the foundations/continuity of the past, which make it a jarring reading experience. Loeb's run on its own is big, dumb fun, I get it. Aaron's is a complete mess, story and art. Although Silvestri is a good artist, he drew very little of it, had tons of help and essential he was there as a marketing ploy.
