Did Thor really got his ass whooped by The Red Hulk 🤔 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣So much potential in the MCU is wasted on nostalgia and fart jokes instead of them putting great comicbook stories on the big screen. As someone who is in a military family I can tell you your family history does not help you rise through the ranks. It can help garner a good first impression but you have got to move through the ranks in the military on your own merits. Military promotion from lieutenant through colonel are based on a variety of factors, including their performance, time in service, and willingness to take on responsibility. Which are leadership roles, during peace and war time. Also their individual skill set and training. The requirements and criteria for each promotion vary by branch and military job.

If you mean, the part about being able to raise rank easier, I think it’s true. For example, your kids, if you have them will be much more used to military life such as around or deployments. Wearing a uniform being on time.Etc

@JamMastrJay4 ай бұрын
@@EAster33 I’m a retired Marine, that’s definitely not how rank works. Definitely, not how life in the military with children work either. You don’t take your kids on deployment with you. Maybe to a permanent duty station, but there’s still restrictions to that as well. Merely knowing how the military works doesn’t mean you’re a shoe in for promotion. Time in grade and time in service are the two main aspects of promotion.
@EAster334 ай бұрын
@@JamMastrJay of course and marine corp sucks for reenlistment so great that you retired.. most ppl make to e6 and get kicked. Happend to my e7 in army. What I ment is that a regular child who parents are a plumber have zero idea what life can/or ahould be like in the military. So ones with ex military parents are more likely based on knowledge and support network to get to that promotion. I have met so many “civilians” in basic or ait , hell in main army, that couldn’t adapt. It can happen to anyone but less likely to someone who’s literally family has prepared them for this.. I don’t see how thats so controversial..? If your dad is a plumber,, you might have a bit of experience from hanging around him.. same if your dad is a chef..

From what I understand from friends who were in the military, both Canadian and US, nepotism is rare and often has the opposite effect. Favoritism still exists, and so does general corruption, but that's not the same thing as nepotism. The military is such a huge body with so many moving parts that gaining enough influence to move things around just for a family member is pretty difficult. You have military families with sons and daughters that end up serving, but you also get ones where the kids don't go into the military at all. The military in general really hammers home the idea of earning your own way through the ranks, and rewarding actual ability over heritage. I'm not saying there isn't, but nepotism was WAY more of a thing in older militaries, and often to the detriment of the entire army. The old style of military suffered a lot of command problems because of nepotism, so many modern militaries try NOT to have it. But things still happen of course. Humans are still humans
@PancakeDiaries4 ай бұрын
Nepotism is huge in the military... How we view it is what's really different. Strings definitely get pulled... Most times it's based on stuff like where u went to school. Yeah, u can do great in the service but when u parades and floats...the person leading has ALWAYS gone to West Point.
@Cythil4 ай бұрын
Yes. Nepotism was a central core in old European armies. But the militaries of the world became more based on merit, especially after the French Revolution and the wars that followed. Especially when the French Army ragtag army beat up most armies that when to fight them. Which came as a shocked to them that a bunch of unruly peasants could beat an army led by the first blood in Europe! (Very simplified, of course. There is more to it.) I find most western style armies today are focused a lot more on merit. And the alternative tend to be not so much focused on heritage, but corruption. (And those based more on corruption, you often do not want to have to skilled people in change. Since those could be a treat to the leadership of the country itself. Typical dictator stuff.)
@clintmathis65764 ай бұрын
