Either way, she had a lot of fun with this one :)

I genuinely see the ending to Nier as one of the biggest pieces of evidence that people are, for the most part, good deep down, and are inclined to want to help others. It’s so fitting that message comes at the end of a long storyline with multiple examples of the opposite, and that real life sacrifice gives the story itself a more hopeful ending.

I dont think so, how often do you go back to old saves? You literally lose nothing by giving up the save file.
@damp2269

@@ja-no6fx the fact that you don use or won't use something in the future has no bearing in sentimental value. I'm sure there is plenty of stuff around you house that you don't use but have some sentimental value. doing all the playthroughs is a significant time investment on top of again the sentimental one so giving up the save data is not inconsequential.

@@ja-no6fxFor some people giving up their save file was/is easy. But for others (completionists) it's a big deal. I am sure a decent amount of players still would have liked to play the game a bit longer. Also Being nice to other people and leaving nice messages isn't difficult either. But obviously both deleting and cheering others on helps. A lot of people were helping and a lot of people were cheering. They did not get any reward and still used time and (possibly valuable possibly worthless) progress to help others.

Amazing game all-round and probably the best game to introduce someone to the ART that is games. Having your girlfriend play it now, when she knows how games work now just to throw her off with Yoko's insane vision was a great decision. And having her do all of the ending is just the cherry on top. (SPOILERS FOR THE VIDEO NEXT) I love that you did not force her to give up the data - she made that decision all on her own, wishing to help a total stranger just of the kindness of her heart and knowing that many others have made that decision to help her out. Honestly, playing the game through just for this single moment is worth it... But it has just SO MUCH to offer.

There is something incredibly powerful about the message of this game, that after so many hours of struggle and sorrow, and feeling like everything you've fought for is pointless... people are still willing to sacrifice all of that hard work to help someone else who is having a tough time. Someone they don't know, someone they will probably never meet, but who nevertheless shares that common experience. Because when everything else is gone, we can still be there for one another.

I haven't really played all the other games that intensively, so I don't feel like I can really dig deep into its world because I haven't actually experienced it a lot. Second point is that I love the opening statement of the game directly referencing Nietzsches beliefs. With that I can openly credit all of his work whenever I'm referencing the "god is dead" idea. I don't think other nier games openly reference him so with Automata I atleast have a credible source for my thoughts ^^

Absolutely loved everything about this video. Your girlfriend's reaction to the game and down to your narrating it... It was well made. Thank you! 👍🏻👊🏻

"Each time I'm like 'yeah they can't pull my heart strings.' And then they ****-ing pull my heart strings more." You have summarized pretty much every Yoko Taro game.

I’m so amazed she was able to get to ending E and actually appreciate it. That’s amazing. Cause it’s not a very iser friendly game. I know my wife probably would not even be able to make it through the prologue. So major props to your girlfriend, and to you for encouraging her

She almost got the 4th hacking screen vs A2 fight, that would be great to see. The final sequence of this game(from ""The [E]nd of Yourha" till the title screen) is hands down the best moment I've had in a game.

The fact that the one section in gaming that gets me to tear up every single time is a bullet hell version of the credits really speaks volumes about this game.

Nier: Automata is a game that I would recommend to anyone interested in existential topics. PS: I recommend you that in the next episode of "Made My Girlfriend Play" You should try out 'Ori and the Will of the Wisps' or maybe 'Ori and the Blind Forest'.

I am surprised how so little people actually mention small things like chips, settings and saves in game. That's one of the best thing in Nier for me. How adding chips, changing settings actually makes sense in a game world. Especially that "Virus contamination" section, where you lose vision, have a hard time walking and stuff which all makes sense since they are androids after all

having to almost restart the first part of the game realy helps you notice things you might not have seen or noticed such as whenever 9s tells 2b not to feel bad for the machines he is actually trying to convince himself not to feel bad for them.

What an amazing video and journey! With games like these, I enjoy kind of reliving what I felt when I first played this game through seeing others play the game for the first time! What a beautiful game and a beautiful video! Very well done to the both of you!

The E ending is a perfect example of storytelling through video games. Nier's entire story revolved around what it means to be human, or have a soul, and the last decision you make is such a human one. Do you give up everything you've worked so hard for, just to help someone else? And you do, because that's such a human thing to do.

When they took away 2B and 6O in the span of a couple minutes, I almost stopped playing entirely. That was rough.
