"can you tell me more about that" is the best way to make someone feel that you actually care and wanna hear what they have to say. every time Mal asks it I smile a little. and bro, being able to make all these people feel so safe in front of a camera talking about sometimes pretty heavy topics is incredible. so glad I'm here

I'm 35 and I've been a K.Flay listener for more years than I can count! Her music was the first female musician I enjoyed and opened the door for so many amazing female musicians for me. She was the first one to say the things I needed to hear from another woman! Zion I has been part of my musical life most of my life, their track Coastin' is LIFE CHANGING and I freaked when she was on it!! I hope everyone goes and listens, it's one of the most beautiful songs in the world. 💜

Great episode as always. Mal's interviewing skills really shine. Asking tell me more is such a great way to keep a conversation going. As a blind women i related so much to the hearing loss aspect and about learning to accept it. As there will still be days the loss vison in my case is still felt now. Ive been legally blind since birth. Also the judgment of others behavior while drinking is such an interesting topic. I still struggle with today. Great episode I always look forward to this podcast. ❤

Excellent conversation. First I have to second her recommendation about Pema Chodron. I stopped drinking 37 years ago and her thoughts about it resonate with me. K is a very impressive woman. Thanks for having her on. Congratulations on a great show.

I smoke weed, but when I get anxious or depressed I force myself not to because my goal is never to use it as a cooping mechanism. Being present in difficult situations helps so much in developing who you are. I have a weird relationship with alcohol, too, so I only ever have it in the house when there's a party. There's too much addiction in my family to risk it. ❤

Wow I never thought I would see representation for myself before. I'm gay, was born deaf in my left ear (I wear a hearing aid in my right which I'm extremely self conscious of) and I struggle with alcohol as a coping mechanism. I'm so grateful for this podcast you have no idea. Thank you so much Mal and Mathilde!

This guest reminds me of Casey Tanner, Shannons sister, SJ, ER Fighmaster and Zoya. I think of each of them as incredibly centered, articulate and giving of self women. You are very lucky to be connected to these women. Please don't hate on me, I haven't listened to everyone, these few stand out to me. I could listen to them all day.

haha, I was born deaf to my left ear, and not knowing where sounds come from is pretty scary. especially as a woman, I hate late night walks home. I laughed a little at Mal's reaction about not having that sense of space.

Growing up "straight edge" because my religion (Mormon) required it, I'm glad I was older when I did start drinking. It's hard finding friends/gf's who don't drink too much. Not to mention, they feel judged if I'm choosing to not drink or only have a couple...so, I often end up having more so they don't feel uncomfortable. I wish they would analyze why they feel guilty, and I wish I wouldn't compromise my limits to appease them (I'm not always bad, and I sometimes buy fake beer to help).

WAIT!! I post to my Instagram stories almost everyday, but everyone knows I have a hard and fast rule that I won't watch anyone's Instagram stories that I know personally! Only artists that I follow or shops I love and that's it! That's so funny that she said it's psychotic, I love it! 😂😂

24:20 HOLY SHIT!! THE CUTE GIRL AT TRADER JOE'S SAID THIS TO ME NOT EVEN 3 HOURS AGO!!! 🤯🤯 She said she has a 5-year limit on all relationships! Because literally nobody does the work on themselves, so at the 5-year mark if they're not improving themselves, it's done. So crazy to hear that message repeated back almost instantly. Okay universe. I'm listening! 🤣🤣🤦🏼♀️

i’d much rather hear a podcast of a lesbian and a straight woman together. it can highlight the differences in their perspectives on life as well as their commonalities, since they’re both women at the end of the day. it can bridge the divide between us since there are too many straight women that think of us as “not real women”. if you have a podcast with a straight man, you’re just going to spend most of the time teaching him that women are human beings, too. boring. also not a “testicles having person” lmao. i guess it’s not only women that experience that ridiculous dehumanizing language 😂
