You can paint just the hall side of the door. The raw wood on the inside goes well with the floor. It is Molly bolts that leave the plastic piece in the wall.

Loooking great! You could paint the hallway face of the door so when all the doors are closed then it matched, but the raw wood could seem cheeky in the sitting room. I think you are right about the antique mirror over the sofa, it would reflect light and the greenery outside to make the room feel larger and more lively. Perhaps a divan/backless chaise lounge could show off your radiator if you find your chairs are too small. One might be able to tuck behind the door or in front of the bookcase. The curtain rod may need to be extended longer as once your drapes are hung, when open they may block the natural sunlight into the room. Keep up the good work. I live for your renovation videos

Just take the living room door off the hinges and sand a bit off the bottom. Or next time you have builders in, ask if they have a planer and they can take a tiny bit off the bottom

The LR looks lovely! Just a thought: We have a sitting room about the same size, with fireplace and built-ins in the same position, and we arranged our 2 loveseats parallel to each other but diagonally to the door. It makes the room seem more dynamic and spacious. It may not look well in your more traditional space, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Beautiful! A few suggestions: You can paint the side of the door that faces into the hall and leave the rest raw. It would be a nice balance with the granite over the wood burner when closed. A large mirror (or a gorgeous empty frame) would certainly work and give your eye a rest from everything else. Try leaning a few smaller paintings over the top of the piano and place a lamp there too (this will help round out the task lighting in the room) and you won't have to fuss with something larger. And you can change it out seasonally or whenever you'd like. The bookcase will also evolve organically, but you're on the right track! I can't wait to see the Christmas tree! Great job!

You can always put small frames in your bookcase (like maybe that short but long (horizontal) painting)! I love layering with paintings/pictures behind a vase, plant, or knickknack! It helps add even more texture, dimension, and interest to a bookcase.

You may have talked about this in a previous video, but have you considered removing the door altogether? I feel like it would make arranging the room easier. Maybe a smaller carpet would suit the room better? It would also showcase more of your gorgeous floor. It would also make the room seem bigger. Regarding the size of the TV ( previous video), I don’t think it’s too big, but the frame is. I think a more discreet frame ( one of the originals sold by Samsung for exemple) would actually suit the beautiful granite mantel and built-in shelves better. They’re kind of overpowered by the huge golden frame right now. Only my opinion of course. The important thing is that it’s pleasing to you.

I think I’d prefer natural wood on all the hall doors, even without knowing the condition of the wood underneath, I’d take the plunge. I tend to assume if it’s painted, it’s not good wood or it’s mismatched because why else would you cover up the natural grain. That is certainly not everyone’s opinion, nor why the reason why those doors are probably painted. The room is looking nice and snug. Maybe look for one of those liquor holding globes and make it more like a British pub snug. Or hide the bottles in the top of the piano, I’m pretty sure that’s traditional too ;)
