This weekend series has changed my life. Literally. This week I've been eating whatever I want without guilt. I feel like a new person. Just like you said, I have more energy to put into the important things in life. Free from preoccupation with feeling bad if I ate too much or didn't exercise that day.

It might sound quirky, but hypnosis really helped me get over my trauma with food. A trauma that was deeprooted from childhood (as young as 3, according to my subconscious). Now I'm not constantly thinking about food, I eat when hungry, until I feel full and don't feel guilty about leaving food on my plate anymore. It's literally changed my life.

Someone here (I can't find the comment anymore) said something along the lines of granola only being perceived as healthy but isn't, because it has a lot of calories. Please note that calories do not equal unhealthy. How do you balance your intuitive eating and health related things? Do you have bloodwork done regularly? I just had bloodwork and my good cholesterol was low and bad cholesterol was elevated. I found out that even a lot of vegetarian and vegan things can contribute to high cholesterol. Sugar/baked goods, fried foods, processed foods, coconut oil, vegan meat and dairy alternatives, etc. How do you balance doing what is best to tackle your disordered eating with what is best for overall health? You say not to be afraid of certain ingredients as a way to deal with the fear of foods and weight gain, but what if those ingredients are bad for your heart and overall health? And how can that then be addressed without falling into restrictive behavior patterns? I actually eat less processed foods than most of the population, and yet here I am with elevated cholesterol results. 😢
@MadeleineOlivia4 ай бұрын
I hear you. I have health anxiety that has been debilitating and it has very much crossed over into orthorexia. I try and focus on balance. Lots of intuitive eating experts recommend having a diet education in the background so you can eat intuitively with knowledge for what makes up a healthy balanced diet. I try and focus on what makes me feel good, balancing my cravings and moderation, while having this awareness for foods in the background. I’ll talk about this in more detail in a future vlog! I am sorry to hear about your cholesterol, but please don’t beat yourself up as this can be largely genetic! It’s likely your healthy diet is helping, but speak to your doctor about ways to help reduce it in a way that’s manageable alongside these concerns for foods 🫶🏻
@Raddiebaddie4 ай бұрын
When in doubt, enjoy Whole Foods plant based in abundance such a filling up on fruits, veg, potatoes, brown rice, rolled oats, legumes, greens, herbs and spices… I am cooking without oil to reduce my cholesterol. I still enjoy vegan treats that you’ve mentioned but I fill up on whole plants first to make sure I’m not just looking for a dopamine hit bc I’m starving. But if after I’ve eaten all the Whole Foods cooked without oil, and I still want that vegan burger/cracker/ brownie, etc then there’s room in life for that too 🌱
@KiraHelenRose4 ай бұрын
@@Raddiebaddie I eat mostly vegetables. Sometimes I have a side of potato chips (crisps) with my lunch. Sometimes I will have a cookie or muffin at work if I’m feeling like it. I don’t typically eat meat alternatives. And the only dairy alternative I have is oat milk and sometimes soy milk. I don’t use coconut oil for cooking. Mostly just use olive oil (which is recommended for heart health). I am not fully vegan, more vegetarian, and so I occasionally have real cheese, and sometimes real ice cream in the summertime. But I don’t eat loads of this sort of stuff. I eat it in moderation, and way less often than most people do. But I have been dealing with tons of stress for several years, and I read that too much stress can affect cholesterol levels.

New to the channel- love it. Listening to this has made me understand what “ intuitive eating” actually means; I always thought it meant that if you eat “intuitively” you would naturally achieve a perfectly balanced diet at all times - which never seemed to happen. I now see that it’s accepting that some days/ weeks you might feel the need to eat cake every day but others you won’t , because you’re listening to your body. So “intuitively” is not always synonymous with viewing your body as a “temple” but can sometimes mean scarfing down Giant Toblerone ( Guilty), because other days you’ll be loving a crisp green salad. At 63 I am grateful for the clarification! Also you’ve inspired me to clean out my fridge…

I love intuitive eating, that is basically what I do but something I have been researching the last 3 years personally is parasites. Read up on them. Everyone has them. Eating antiparasitic foods is a must as well as doing parasite cleanses every few months makes all the difference in the foods I crave or want to eat. It is amazing to see what my body wants after a cleanse. Any food cravings are gone. I have been an organic eater for more than forty years always trying to eat clean and homemade. I also realized recently that alot of middle eastern, Indian or African ancient diets as well as Sicilian foods are staple antiparasitic foods and spices! I dont eliminate foods I love but my body just wants less sugar or carbs and wants the good stuff naturally. Turning 60, I have gone down all the food trails due to health but this seems to be an answer I had refused to look at though it always came up in my readings over the years. Since embracing it, it is just a part of my healthy life now! Always enjoy your videos! Happy autumn!

WHOA nearly 4-min AD read. But what got to me is pushing that AG1 can very likely cure your gut health problems. Studies aside, this is simply not true for many people and can be harmful to push. I know they are a sponsor and support you doing this so we can enjoy your vlogs, but I can’t support that type of approach. I work in marketing with influencers, so I know some (if not most) reads are scripted, but if you have any say, please advocate better for your viewers. You are a lighthouse to many people, especially when it comes to food, going vegan, and being vulnerable.

AG1 is awful! It made me sick and didn’t make any difference. People please watch the real videos and other reviews! It’s far too expensive, tastes awful ! People get paid a lot to advertise this so other can buy it. It’s not worth it so please don’t believe people who get paid for marketing and gets it for free !!
@MadeleineOlivia4 ай бұрын
I’m sorry this was your experience! I am very considerate about what I do and don’t advertise on this channel. I get offered to advertise fast fashion and non-vegan products for example every week but never do. I have reviewed AG1 and personally love it and use it. I wouldn’t share if I didn’t recommend it as it wouldn’t be beneficial for my audience, or for my brand for that matter. I don’t know what I would gain from advertising something I don’t like or recommend as I’d lose integrity, and I wouldn’t want anyone in my audience wasting their money. With that said of course nothing is going to be for everyone so you can take or leave my recommendations and sponsors. Hope that makes sense!

I mean girls gotta make money somehow. I'd rather have 20 seconds of an ad if they are able to keep making lovely videos. She was even honest and said her gut healing journey had a lot to do with lifestyle and food choices rather than praising this as a miracle supplement. Trust me, I get a bad feeling whenever I see influencers pull up these products because you feel like their videos are so relatable and cozy and then BOOM advertising. It feels disingenuous, but you don't have to buy it and can skip over the ad.
