Bravo! I wish that all how-to videos were this thorough and simple! My only question now is speed. When I look at the required speed for my filament, it says no more than 50mm/s but the standard Bambu Studio settings show 200mm/s print speed. I thought that when I told the machine that I was using TPU, it would give me settings usable by TPU. Should I print at the higher speed, or should I use the recommended speeds and top out at 50mm/s? Thanks for a great vide!

@timmontano8792
@timmontano8792 8 ай бұрын
I know that you mentioned you were using an old roll of TPU and that old roll had most likely absorbed a bit of moisture while sitting in storage but, does this mean that a roll of TPU in pristine printing condition would give one a cleaner surface finish than those shown in the models you printed in this video? Those were some pretty rough finishes.

Thanks for the vid, it really helped me... BUT, I have tried a few different TPU brands in my P1P with no AMS and many brands would not even feed through the feed gears or hot end.. they just appeared to get tangled round the feed gears, which was a right royal pain in the rear to get access to and unclog. indeed I ended up just buying a new hot end as even after clearing the clog in the gears I could not get any other material to feed through the hot end. I did alter the feed spring too to no joy..... Eyeron is the only non bambu brand I have actually been able to feed through the Bambu lab P1P... PS I usually use Overture TPU on my other printers, ( Elegoo Neptune 2s) just fine... Any thought or advise? Thanks in advance Ian FuriousRC

Any idea how much the pressure advance value matters for TPU? Just for fun I ran a test, and found I had to run the bowden settings just to start to see a change in the lines. I ended up at .26, an order of magnitude higher than the default. Maybe it doesn't matter at the speeds TPU prints at, so no one ever mentions it. We'll see if my prints improve!

Hello. I have 1 question about Bambu Studios - maybe you will be able to help me. I was trying to add a simple, plain circle to Bambu Studios to print a coin but in bugger size (10cm diameter). And when I upload the .svg file to Slicer I can see that the edge of the coin is not fully rounded - you can see the small walls that make up the circle. I tried uploading few different circle .svg files that are 100% circles and in Bambiu Slicer the walls & small edges appear. The question is: Is this normal that the Slicer shows these walls and not fully plain edge of the circle - but it will print it as a plain circle? Or should I do some editing within the slicer to make it disappear? Sorry to ask, my printer will come in a month from now and Im already trying to get some first models done and learn some about Bambu Slicer. Thank you in advance and Happy New Year! :)

TPU 95A should be fine at a fairly slow speed, more flexible stuff will likely be more problematic? I have flexible 65a, 85a and 85a, filaments & for the very soft stuff the extruder tensioner will need to be relaxed as in my experience the softer filaments will just get chewed up in the gears otherwise. I would also not fancy trying to push very flexible filament into/aling the bowden tube, its likely to be hard work.

Hard tpu or hard carbon tpu work quite good with the ams. Just modify a pla profile for the tpu

@@jean-nicolasmenu-galinier8221 extrudr Flex Hard is shore hardness D58. definitly harder than 95A. still gets stuck in the ams from time to time but not that often.

@muhkuh0816 Je cherche définitivement un mode pour le TPU dans l'AMS, mais je ne le trouve pas ! Je suis sûr que c'est possible, mais je ne trouve pas ! J'aimerais le trouver avant de me la procurer !

You REALLY need to use PTF Tube on to allow for the best path for the TPU.. ask me how I know... I had issues with Y adapter also, the inside had a LIP that kept catching the filament. Watching to see what you did.

Yea I usually fit it as I mentioned I was just one handed for this.

@@MadRC did you figure out a fix for the Y? I really want to either remodel the existing Y's or find a good model and print it. I believe I had supports accidentally selected, need to try a reprint of that. These machines are so fun!

Could you just add a switch to turn off the drive for one of the filament handler bays? That way you can still do multi filament.

so I downloaded your profile and the speed seems really fast for tpu, did you change it
@tribar-6886
@tribar-6886 10 ай бұрын
The maximum print speed is defined by the "Max volumetric Speed" in the filament settings. The "Generic TPU" profile has a "Max volumetric Speed" of 3.2 mm3/s. This results in a maximum print speed of 40mm/s with a 0.4mm nozzle & 0.2mm layer height (regardless the higher print speeds in the provided/chosen Process Preset, they will be ignored). Max print speed equals 'Volumetric Speed'/ ('Nozzle Diameter' x 'Layer Height')

I've tried to simply remove the PTFE tube and leave the AMS attached but in the BambuStudio it gave me the run around until I unplugged it. I'm not sure if there was a setting I missed but I hope to figure it out because that is an annoying part.

While you can't use the AMS to print TPU, is the environment in the AMS desirable for TPU storage?

I followed your tutorial using eSun 95A TPU in my P1P using the generic TPU profile. First layer or so went down fine but the filament stopped feeding after about layer 3. Any tips or suggestions?

slow down, the gears are biting too fast in to the filament, slowing down is the key for feeding tpu
