Hi Tony ! I live in California and am planning an RV trip in Spain. Could you make a video on RV campgrounds (say 5) that are close to Metro lines and would be a viable alternative to staying at hotels while visiting Madrid (and other Spanish cities).. You produce excellent videos !

Hello Greg, many thanks for your kind words. Your idea is great but it poses a problem for us. Here in the channel we only talk about places we know. And we have no experience whatsoever of driving an RV in Spain. Of course, we could research the topic and pass on to you second-hand information, but it is not something we want to do for the time being, we want to stick to the things and places we have experienced first hand. @@artlaurent as the rules change frequently and we are not familiar with the restrictions applied to many countries around the world, the best thing would be to check with a Spanish consulate in the Philippines or whichever country interests you.

Hi Terry, in Madrid most things open 7 days per week, only the food markets will be closed. But tourist attractions, parks and museums will open as on a Sunday. As well as the bank holiday on May 1st, May 2nd is a local holiday.

thankfully I think you're right, the country has made huge progress over the last 20 years. You will find accessibility to most buildings and on the streets is quite good. But as you will probably know, that is just the beginning. Have a great trip!

Hello, never exchange euros at the airport. Either use an ATM to withdraw euros or wait till you reach the centre. There are two money exchanges at the Puerta del Sol, right next to each other. Compare rates and use the one offering a better deal.

Thank you for your kind words, Haslindah! Why don't you consider returning the car as soon as you reach Madrid? Otherwise you will be paying of the rental of a car you will not be using during the time you stay in Madrid. If you don't have a car, you can search for acommodation in the centre of the city, where you will be able to make the most of your time in Madrid. And on the day of your departure, you can reach the airport by train, metro, bus or a taxi ride (fixed price, 30€). All the best!

Hello there. Madrid is packed with tourists, wherever you go. You will find many even in Lavapiés or Malasaña. You might want to go to Salamanca, it's a neighborhood with a more local feel to it - although it is an upmarket district. The above mentioned Lavapiés or Malasaña, in spite of the presence of tourists, have a very strong local flavor too (imigrants in Lavapiés, hipsters in Malasaña). All the best.

Hello again Tony . I understand that if we buy the Paseo del Arte card on line, we have to pick it up from the museum whose web site we used to make the purchase. We're planning to use the Thyssen site on the basis that it might be easier to pick up the pass from there than from the Prado (shorter queues, we hope). Do you know where exactly we would have to go at the Thyssen - eg the general ticket office? And do we then have to use the pass for the Thyssen on the day we pick it up, or can we just pick it up and come back to make the actual visit on a different day? Any tips gratefully received. Hi Jenny, you understood everything correctly. Yes, queues at the Thyssen museum should be quicker, go to the general ticket office when you arrive. Hello Oleksiy, welcome to the channel. Your first problem will be your luggage. There is a left-luggage facility at the Estación Sur de Autobuses. From the station you could try to reach by metro Sol station. And do a basic tour including the Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and returning to Sol through Arenal street. Then back to the Estación Sur de Autobuses. Next to the station there is a railway station, called Méndez Álvaro, where you will be able to take trains C1 or C10 directly to the airport. You will arrive at T4. Take a free shuttle bus to reach T1. Hello Tony, thank you for your work! I have a problem buying tickets to Prado Museum of Madrid because English version of their list of possible buyers doesnot have senior (65+). Yesterday, Spanish version gave me tge right choice, however because my understanding Spanish is poor, the window closed themself. Today I repeted the attempts however without a result. Hi Jenny, taxis in Madrid are ok, it's only in Seville that they have a terrible reputation. But you can also use a Bolt/Cabify/Uber to leave from Atocha station. All the best!

Hello Halil, most attractions, but for public markets, should open as on a Sunday. But it is always good to double check, as there might be exceptions. For bars and restaurants will be business as usual. There might be slightly less people in Madrid as locals tend to scape from the city during the bank holiday. But hordes of tourists are guaranteed. A bit confused about the multicard. In your video about purchasing a tourist card, you mentioned we would need to buy a separate card for each person. For instance i plan to visit with my son, can I purxhase a normal and then add a a child tourist package to my own card or by a separate card for him?

Hello there. To pay for ANY trip in the metro you need to have a "Tarjeta Multi" (Multi Card). It is on the card where you load your tickets. You can buy a multi-trip ticket or a single ticket, but they have to go on the card. So, you need a card and then the ticket of your choice. All the best!

Thanks Peter. The Metrobus 10 viajes is a ticket valid for ten trips, you can take them whenever you want, the ticket doesn't expire. Is the multi-card only good in Madrid? WE are also going to Malaga and I'm wondering if we could use it there too? We bought a Renfe ticket from Madrid to Malaga that says Combinado Cercanias so I'm assuming this ticket is also good to take another train in Malaga to our destination? I believe we need the C1 after the Madrid train. Do I need to get a renfe ticket somewhere to validate the fare on the C1 Malaga train to my hotel? Thank you!

The MultiCard is a card valid for the Madrid transport system. You won't be able to use it outside Madrid. If you are staying in Málaga itself the Combinado Cercanías won't be of any help.
