Because they have to pay you $25 plus taxes and benefits an hour to pick and process my Apple orchard. When before they get have three workers working almost twice as efficiently for that same wage. Because let's be real you're not slaving out there 16 hours in 100° weather without no breaks.... They'll be lucky to get you out there for 6 hours with all the breaks you're taking and even then you're 6 hours of work would be more like the persons you replace hour and a half worth of work.... Now multiply that effect across all the jobs that will be replaced and your $25 an hour might as well be $2.50 probably less
