In this video I am explaining the facts and myths around Maggi as a food/supplement, to be used in bodybuilding.
Fitness matters with 3 things:
Training
Nutrition
Rest
We will be focused on Nutrition on this video, as Maggi falls into the nutrition category of fitness.
There are various products available in the market, however all of them are identical in their nutrition value. The one I have got for this video has the following Nutrition value.
Serving Size: 230 g
Energy: 313 Cal
Protein: 6.7 g
Carbs: 43 g (Refined Flour, Processed)
Fats: 10.7 g (Saturated Fat and Trans fat)
Fiber: 2.8 g
Sodium: 870 mg
The biggest concern I would have is with the source of the carbs, which comes from refined flour, which increases sugar level in the body instantly, which may result in diabitic conditions and insulin spike. However, one may ask, to build up the muscle, the Glucose or sugar would require, but if you avail a source of glucose from processed food like this, you would receive the sugar instantly and in abundance which is not healthy, our body would require steady and slow intake of Sugar which can be digested and used. The trans fat available in the maggi can cause bad cholesterol in the arteries which can cause heart related issues in the long run. Sodium is also very high in quantity with this serving size, sodium is for blood pressure. High sodium value may lead to higher blood pressure also sodium is also responsible for water retention. An average human requires 2300-2500 mg of sodium daily, however, when you consume 890 mg from one serving it may result in an overlimit from the other source of foods you will be consuming in a day.
So, it is not a good food choice for bodybuilding and heath & Fitness.

It is an individual choice to consume Maggi, however, I would recommend to use it type of cheat meal once in a while.
