Pentatonix - Run To You (i was told it was written by Avi himself) - I promise you you have never heard anything like that from PTX before...This song was covered many times and is a PTX classic...First time i heard it i started to cry because of its bittersweet sound.... Pavarotti was the first opera singer I ever heard and I was mesmerized from the first sound. Growing up, I listened to him every chance I got and I believe he is the reason I was interested in musical theater. Thank you Maggie. Very few reactors cover his materiel even though he had such a profound impact on the world. He was the first Rock Star Opera Singer.

Full disclosure. I participated in the Pavarotti competition in Modena back in the 80’s and his first wife, Adua, was my agent in Italy. He worked with me on my first Duca and he was an incredible friend and mentor. A little secret - he hated studying but he had such a great feeling for everything he sang. I still miss him.

You cannot believe how this was received by tens of millions of fans of football ( soccer) during the 1990 World Cup , that was held in Italy , it really brought him to a whole new global audience , and one of the most famous players at the time was an Italian , by the name of Roberto Baggio who had the nickname of The Divine Ponytail , due to his hairstyle , it was a football romance , that ended badly for them , but just made the song even more poignant ..Brings the chills every time , and we are all secret opera singers for this one lol ..

Pavarotti’s performance is just incredibly good. This is one of my favorite arias and when I first heard Pavarotti sing it, I was floored. Your reaction is really terrific, a very informative detailed analysis of the techniques being used while at the same time a clearly heartfelt enjoyment of the music itself. Editing is first class. And we discover that not only does the puppy play killer guitar solos as in other videos but he is a world class tenor as well! ⭐

When I first heard Pavarotti, I was mesmerized and dumbstruck. I was an immediate fan. Since then I have heard many, many performances by other tenors. His mastery eclipses all of them, even the great Caruso. To me, he is the greatest vocalist of all time. [Also a big fan of Kathleen Battle.]

Great reaction, I grew up hearing Mario lanza, he was my late father's favorite singer, he played his records all the time, I read Pavarotti and Domingo grew up listening to lanza and that he was a big influence on there careers.

This was great-your descriptions & explanations of what he was doing, why he was doing it, and how he was doing it were wonderful! I saw Pavarotti at the Kennedy Center twice in the 1980s, and Nessus Dorma was the encore at one of them! His ability to be heard even when he was singing very softly-in recital, no microphone-was incredible. My top two musical performances? The Beatles in 1966 and Pavarotti in Tosca at the Met in 1987❤️

BTW, Turandot is an outrageously great story and it saddens me people see this gem, not know the words or setting (come morning, I'm kicking ass!) and ignore this fun action, thriller opera.

I've seen/heard recordings of other Pavarotti performances of Nessun Dorma, and when he was younger he held that last note a lot longer. But I think where he cut it in this performance meshes better with the orchestra. At this stage in his career, though, his technique from experience makes his voice sound richer and fuller. And the passion he channels through this performance in particular is second to none.

THE TENOR GOD, THE GREATEST, THE ONE. My fave version. I have it in my memory. I love reaction videos of professionals like you. There is a feeling of authentic reaction and pro insights. Yes, there is a touching theater play now, a softer touch unlike his. Like where is the belting? Sharing: I was a choir member, Bass, I tried to copy him (after learning how to sing openly or not holding back I seldom sing at karaoke (videoke)) I sang at the rehearsal (and at the actual mass) Adeste Fideles. I almost died. XD I felt that all my blood was squishing, draining out. The elder well not old, said "sound like Pavarotti..." the choir guide was kinda surprised too. It was like a death-defying stunt. It was the last attempt. He he. Those reaction are very important for me with a sad life that I have. So far for that, Pavarotti has been my favorite. We are so impressed hearing and watching him and other through videos like this BUT listening live is far better. There are like sounds you cannot hear in recordings. I read a similar comment that "When he sings it's like God who is singing" (if not exactly). And in a duet with his father in a church singing Panis Angelicus was also explosive. I was looking for the microphone. It was like just beside them. Pavarotti sound just so different and very powerful. His dad sings so high but his high notes has masculinity like a mix of tenor and the other voice, not bass. His incomparable. If he is in heaven now I am sure they are enjoying the unlimited Pavarotti. He would always be singing beside God.

Thank you for doing this video! As a lover of opera and a once-upon-a-time aspiring tenor, there is, for me, no one greater than Pavarotti before or since! Il maestro!! I’ve watched this video (and others) a million times. He’s just effortless. And the sound….there are no words. But for me, the part of this video that proves WHY he was the greatest is the end. After he has resolved that glorious high C, after the last note leaves his mouth, he is STILL SINGING with his whole body! The performance continues. And I dissolve into tears every single time! I love your channel. You’re amazing! Keep doing what you do!!!
