It’s all metaphorical. He’s been sober since December 2007. On the set of 8 Mile in 2001 between helping with the script, acting, writing music, recording, and producing the soundtrack he was only sleeping two hours or less a day and he started taking sleeping pills so that he could sleep. He became addicted to them and when his best friend Proof died April 2006 his addiction just really escalated until he overdosed and almost died in 2007 and went into a coma for a few weeks. He went into rehab and got out early 2008 and he’s been sober since, no drugs or alcohol. His sponsor is his friend Elton John and as a show of friendship when Elton John got married EMINEM sent a gift, a matching pair of solid gold, diamond encrusted cock rings in a carrying case on a red velvet pillow.

The alcohol references. Eminem's rugged look is something he adopted after The Marshall Mathers LP 2(2013), the album Rap God is from, with the release of Revival(2017), which beat Relapse(2009) as his lowest rated and most hated album "why are you making out with a basketball?" because they made visual elements in relation to his lyrics "lick the balls" "i'm in a mental hospital" "you just pulled a pistol on the guy with a missile launcher" "like a liar's pants i'm on fire" Cole Bennett managed to invite Mike Tyson to take part in the music video since they were making references to Eminem's older songs and projects throughout the music video. The reason they had Mike was Eminem's lyrics on Just Don't GIve a F*** ("You gettin' knocked the **** out like Mike Tyson") which plays in the parking lot during Em and Mike's short convrsation Eminem's been completely sober and hasn't touched alcohol or drugs since 2008, after a near death overdose in 2007 If you want more Juice WRLD check out Doomsday by Juice and Cordae. It was recorded as some sort of freestyle with both when Juice was alive, but they apparently hadn't had the chance to release it until recently. THe music video is 10/10, a single take type where Cordae plays both himself and Juice as his face is changed with a deepfake

It is well beyond the early gangsta 'shock ya' level and has spawned several discernible branches each with its own styles and conventions and forms of messages. It's disgusting. Many of those brothers are still in prison, or else they've been executed. Now, rap is toned down because it's all about making money, but it's still violent and misogynistic.
