😅Here is a behind the scenes fun-fact: I guess that video is not the best to judge the quality of my skin… It was a sunny, hot day here in Spain and I had to turn off the aircon and ventilator when I filmed this. So as the room gets hotter and hotter, I get more and more red and puffier and sweatier during the video… 😂 But, it is what it is… 🤷♀

Olay Cleansing Melts. One inch squares that you put in palm of hand, add a little water to activate foam, and rub hands together to create lather and wash face. It’s a solid product so it doesn’t have to go into liquids bag. Olay introduced them this year so they are fairly new.

You look amazing!!!! For me it's Vit C, & Sunscreen in the morning and a simple moisturizer and tretinoin in the evening, sometimes a Cicaplast baume if my skin acts up or is very dry. (and genetics plays a role, too. My mom has consistently looked 10-15 years younger than her age)

I'm in France and yes we have the Dove beauty bar there. :) I like other brands though. For the face I use a "dermatological bar" and for the body a normal soap. Last one I've been into is a "savon de Marseille" with a very clean composition. I also use some organic solid soap sometimes.

LG Theresa
@MaggiFuchsАй бұрын
Vielen Dank! 😅

We have the Dove Beauty Bar in the U.S. Another great option is Cerave Hydrating Bar, bar soap that moisturizes. Beauty of Joseon makes a solid sunscreen stick that is great on face and around the eyes.

To get sunscreen to not get in your eyes you can set it with a bit of face powder (or if super pale even baby powder/cornstarch).
@MaggiFuchsАй бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely try that. How exactly do you apply it? First sunscreen and then the powder on top? 🤔
@catobubnikowicz9959Ай бұрын
@@MaggiFuchs Hi Maggi. yes, I put sunscreen all over my face, let it dry a bit, then take a small fluffy brush and gently pat it into a bit of powder then glide it under my eye, then close my eye to swirl it over the eyelid. I do both eyes and the powder the T-zone. Love your videos!

I was thinking about that. :) Just out of curiosity: I read that the 10 doesn’t absorb as nicely into the skin as the 5 - is this something that you noticed as well?
@LisaNix2Ай бұрын
@@MaggiFuchs I don’t remember this but it was a couple of years since I started using the 10. The 10 is twice as strong as the 5 which is more helpful for our skin. ☺️ since I also only use it at night that is not so important to me either. The 10 absorbers ok for me☺️

I admit I am somewhat haphazard & lazy with my skin care. I have «young skin» for 55, but it is catching up to me now. I notice changes. So I learned quite a bit about consistency from you. I like the Dove bars & I just learned I may be able to buy them here at a Meny store 🤞🏻. I usually use Cerave, the green one, and then I use avocado oil on face & body. And that’s it. Soap in the shower tho in the evening and then avocado oil. I was using a sunscreen more consistently this summer, also 50 spf & I should add that back in. Sometimes I try different moisturizers, but I always go back to an oil. I feel like it absorbs & also usually I grow calendula - so I make my own face oil with calendula. Most years - not this one! I have never tried a facial peel or rather… I think I did, long ago. Origins made one & it smelled like apricots - but I am not sure it exists anymore. I do have some rosacea so sometimes I have to use a cream my dermatologist gave me - but one tube has lasted me ummm too long! I do not usually wear makeup - but I noticed my dark circles more after 53/4 and so sometimes I use a little coverup. But again - very little. I squeezed some into a contact container and it lasted all 11 weeks when I was away taking care of my mother. So 🤷🏼♀️☺️😂 …. that said, I may need to test out your method! I would like to age «gracefully» so it is worth being a little careful.

I was thinking of trying to use oil again in the winter as a moisturizer. When it’s cold, I don’t like the water-based stuff to much. Makes my face freeze… 😂 And from my limited understanding, a cream is just an oil-base and a water-base whipped together… It’s so cool that you make your own with Calendula. I see no reason why some chemical compound bought in a store should be any better than that - and as long as it works for your skin, it’s perfect imho.

😂Advantages to only travelling a few times a year…. my garden & calendula flowers 😂👍🏻👍🏻 But I have been mulling over trying to be more dedicated while putting the garden to bed for the winter 🙈😳Not ready!

I tried the Isdin Magic Fusion Water (not sure what the name was). Really liked the consistency and how it felt on my face, but it also crawled into my eye. But I saw that they have a Mineral version as well - maybe I can pick one up before I leave Spain and give it a try. 👍

If you always travel with your retinol and serum, I'd say it would be a good idea to look fro a fragrance-free option for them to avoid issues in the long run. For skincare advice I can really recommend to check out Dr Dray here on KZbin - since I started watching her a few year ago and started following her recommendations my skin has been great (fragrane-free and a minimal number of prodcuts).

It’s just a friendly suggestion of someone who was in a similar situation. :) But have you ever looked into your nutrition? I really had TERRIBLE acne until ~12 years ago. I tried every product and doctor but nothing helped me. Then I figured out that I have an food allergy, and since I removed a few things from my diet, my skin cleared up.
