YOU ARE SO HELPFUL! OH MY GOSH. I actually work for Qkids, for which I use a pretty decent amount of incidental language, and am trying to pass my VIP mock and my ME trial like... at the same time, basically. THIS HELPS SO MUCH. I can bring my incidental language back (to a point, I shan't go crazy) and I can feel more relaxed, which will help me be more energetic! I'm gonna keep watching you. You are SO helpful.

@@LingLab while still keeping my Qkids schedule! Yes. Very full hands. Lol. And a very full brain of 3 different techniques. I think if I am just myself, it will go great. I'm naturally like... A fun person. Super high energy. In my mock lesson with the mentor... I clammed up. As soon as I made one mistake and I knew it, I just felt terrible and I could NOT get my energy back. My interviewer asked how I felt and I said "terrible." He told me it wasn't terrible at all, but that it was fine. He thinks I can do better than fine... And he is right. If I'm just myself and not anxious and have my coffee I will be good! And I don't have to worry about saying too many words. I can say lots of words! Lol.

Thank you! I have my first trial class on Friday. I have to unlearn a lot of things from VIP KID. I am nervous. Great information! These are exactly the type of things I am struggling with. I did practice and I still did not do as well as I would have wanted in my 1v4. I need to practice more. This is a great video!

And transitions are actually integral parts of all ESL trainings or certificate programs that I know of. IE: TESOL, TEFL, TKT, DELTA or CELTA

I found this very informative. I am a former elementary teacher who homeschools, and recently applied with VIPKID. Did my Mock 2 and was not hired. I was shocked, but wonder if it's because Magic Ears would be more my style. I am definitely high energy. Not the best at following rules and like to talk. :-) Really appreciate your comparison and think I will apply.

Thank you for posting! I felt disheartened when I got hired at VIPkid and I felt like the curriculum (although robust) was not a fit for me. I finally applied to Magic Ears and I was so excited to find out that we are allowed to use freedom of conversation. As a kindergarten teacher it just feels more like my typical reading small group. Great way to explain the difference and so helpful!

I'm roughly a little over three minutes in and, I admit, I'm hanging on every word and can't wait to hear how these two platforms are different. My only problem is that the cuts are very distracting to me. They seem to be so frequent that it makes it hard to pay attention. (No, I don't have ADD or anything--there are just too many.) Otherwise, this seems like a promising video and like I said, I can't wait to see what's coming up!

I just had an interview with Magic Ears this past week. I was shocked to see my interviewer was sitting in a very busy cafe almost in the dark. I could not see her face clearly. As I began my demo, people in the cafe started mocking me by repeating what I was saying. They were saying "snow," snowy!" and laughing. I simply could not believe the obvious lack of profressionalism I was enduring. I was really put off by this and feel I could not work for a company like this. I wrote to them as well and have not heard back. Furhtermore, I did not receive any results. When I go to the page it is prompting me to sign up for a demo. I was excited to work at Magic Ears but I am no longer interested. Is this considered normal for an interview with this company?

I went to the Magic Ears website and they have all the information an applicant needs on the website. I do not believe that an applicant needs to go on a scavenger hunt to find the answers to what is expected, what is the pay, how the lessons should be taught, etc. I also do not believe that this type of information should be held hostage by mentors ready to sign on applicants. Essentially, the applicant would be paying for the information through their usage of a mentor. I would like to know how ME chooses what teacher is assigned to a particular child.

Is the trial class always the same one,,,,bananas,,hand,,, or does each applicant get a different trial class..? Does the Tesol certificate you got from Vipkid count or do you have to get another one from Groupon?

I'm happy to help however I can! Magic Ears also does a great job of training teachers who are applying and there's a great Q&A groups run by the company. So there are lots of resources available to help you feel good about the process!
