Step by step prep for mock class 1, Letter X for VIPKID. In this video, I’m not going to just give you examples of how to teach each slide, but I’m going to prepare you to actually think through them and be genuinely prepared to present the mock class in an effective way, and most of all, YOUR way.

This is spot on! I completed my MOCK 1 three days ago and my MOCK 2 yesterday and wish I had seen this video, but alas it was only published yesterday (after my MOCK 1). Are you and the students seeing the same power point screen? How are you circling on a screen? Do we need special tools and power point? (I used your link to sign up.) Perhaps you could point me to another video? Thanks you-great video

We see the same ppt. The ppt is loaded into the platform, so you will see it there without any special tools. Once you get into the platform by taking the next step in the application process, it will make a lot more sense to you. Sorry for the delayed response. I am working at Magic Ears and managing their KZbin channel. I spend most of my time there these days.

Help, I can't keep the hello tune in my head and even went so far as to use my music reading skills to write it out on huge poster sticky notes. Ugggggggggggggggg.. Any ideas?

While mentors would love for you to get the tune right, most have seen and passed quite a few teachers who couldn't do it. Don't make this such a big deal that it worries you or stresses you going into your mock class. If it doesn't meet your expectations, you could get flustered and make mistakes. Just do what you can, or even change the tune, and let that one thing go if you need to! You've got this!

I believe it has to do with getting them into practicing memory retrieval vs recognition of the vocab, as retrieval is more difficult. Teacher Mike's video helped me figure this out as it goes more over this slide and the "pair & flip" method mentioned here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpW0aJmPeL-bq80

what does draw a line mean? Like a literal line?

We ask the children to draw a line from one thing to another on the screen with their mouse. We demonstrate by "drawing" in the air or drawing a line on the screen with our mouse. Hope this helps!
