Magic Knot for Joining Yarn (Fisherman's Knot)

In this quick video I show you how to do the Magic Knot Join (also known as the Fishermans Knot) for joining two pieces of yarn together securely. I personally think this is the best join for attaching 2 strands of yarn together but it DOES NOT WORK for slippery yarns. Watch the video fully for my foolproof way to test that knot will hold BEFORE you continue crocheting as the Magic Knot is not always as magic as it first seems! 😜

How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyro... The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
