Magic Knot Tutorial: How to tie your yarn together without it pulling apart or coming undone.

Virtually impossible to untie! This video shares how to make a magic knot to tie yarn together. Perfect for when you need to tie on to your next skein of yarn. How many times have you found a skein with a knot in it? Often it's done with a regular knot and will come undone if you are not careful. This method will make your yarn knot smaller, and it WON'T come undone. Magic!
I am using US terms in this tutorial.

I just do an old-style knot, leaving two longish ends, I put one to the side of the old yarn and one to the side of the new yarn, and crochet together. Thus they are securely woven in. Yes, there's a bit of extra bulk, but barely noticeable in the finished work.

I can’t understand for the life of me why this works. After all, either of these knots alone won’t work. Why does two of them together work? Can anyone explain? Even without understanding, though, this works. Others make this particular method so danged impossible to understand; I love it that this video is more or less “just make the same little knot you always do, but twice,” without having me pass string A through hole X and string B through hole Y and I get a headache trying to follow. This is so much easier to understand! And the dumb thing WORKS. I don’t get it, but I love it! 💋 Thanks so much for making it dummy-proof! - With love from a big dummy.

Help please! I am crocheting an afghan, and I have had to join several different yarns together. I am making a magic knot.
