If the number 1 is chosen as the second digit, you will have to deal all 9 cards at the end of the dealing process into the pile for the trick to work. It would be best to just give your spectator a range of 2-9, so they do not choose 1, however even if they do, the trick will still work as long as you deal all nine cards at the end into the existing pile.

Your explainers are thorough, it’s appreciated. I’d do the number bit by writing a secret number, then asking them to do the next one, then turn both over. I can see that a force 5 would also be cool, because then you could actually hide the number until the end!

I learned a similar trick but with total is always 49. You take a random card from the deck and also a 4 and a 9 as prediction. The counting is the same, the court cards can be any number from 1 to 10, so if spectator says 5, all court cards are 5. This is a division trick, but I cannot replicate it although I wrote it in my magic notebook. I am missing something, maybe the bottom prep. Important, no Jokers. Ok, I got it. You have to make same bottom prep, but no 9 at the end, just 10 to Ace, decreasing. In this case, for the last card you deal, always the remaining cards are n-1. So for example, if your last card is a 9, then you are left with 8 cards so you can put no more. Thanks for this video as this trick is good to use with decks you are missing one card. It does not matter which card is. I will edit my notebook. Now tou have another variation. This is good uf people wants a "Do it again." Just saying you have another lucky number but remember to discard a card and also place a 4 and 9 (49) face down on the table.

IMHO if the spectator picks 5 it's the best because then you can also have them pick the second number as well! That makes it seem even more like they chose everything. Or if you do the force 5 with the card have them pick the other number as well.

@@MLTMagicTricks thanks for your prompt reply. I love your channel. Regarding this truck I have reviewed the tutorial a few times and the truck worked on every number except 51. Reason was that for 51 I removed 9 cards to the bottom of the pack. ( 60-51) However when I get to the last card with 9 value - there are still 9 cards to count. 8 to the burnt pile and 1 goes to the pile to add. With all other two digit numbers there are less than 9 cards left so trick worked perfectly. What am I doing wrong ? Many thanks
