Magic Pencil Prop for Online ESL Teachers

In this video I’m going to show you how to make and use one of my favourite props, The Magic Pencil!
I use this prop almost everyday to get my students to draw a line on the screen.

MATERIALS:
1. Roll of tinfoil (empty)
2. Sriracha bottle cap
3. A nail
4. Yellow felt (or craft foam)
5. Pink craft foam (or balloon)
6. Black tape (hockey or electrical)
7. Hot glue gun
8. 1/2” wooden dowel (approx. 20 inches long)
9. Adhesive backed rare earth magnet

Wow. I love this. I use a white board marker with a mouse glued to the top of it. I've made a simple white board which I then use to physically draw the line onto it. This is a time saver and also will get more laughs. Great idea. Thanks so much.

It’s a 1/2” wooden dowel about 20 inches long covered in fluorescent green hockey tape 🙂
