Last videos were more on the side of practice and instruction. And I talked… so now it is time for another relaxing video. I used a large piece of solid fabric and matching thread to create a classical table runner. I am using most of the designs I showed you in the last videos. In a way it is quilting on a real project

I will be watching this video multiple times for inspiration. I am making a scrappy quilt, but I don’t have enough of the contrast fabric for the size I want to make. So, I’m using a white center block that’s 12.5 x 12.5 inches and had no idea what to put in that plain, white, cotton twill center block. I think breaking up the block and keeping a white on white would be stunning. Now, to map it out on paper first. Wish me luck.

Hi there! That sounds like a plan. I love to have large negative space in my quilts. Most of the time I do a lot of improv quilting there. Adding stripe elements will do the trick as well. Please let me know how it goes! ❤❤❤

Oh no! I hope you were not hit too hard. The forces of nature are terrfifing. We had floods here in Germany and Poland in the last weeks. The damage was extensive. I am very happy to provide few minutes of respite. Even if this is all what I can do. Sending hugs from Germany! ❤❤❤

@@quiltingnerd hugs greatly appreciated. North Carolina was hit hard. Massive destruction and many are still without water and power all throughout the affected southeastern states. My family came through safe and their homes weren't damaged, but the damage to structures and roads was unbelievable. It will be a long struggle to get everything cleaned up and repaired.

@@morganosborne9258 I have seen reports from South Poland and it is bad enough. The damage to infrastructure is bad enough ut usually state and goverment are repairing that as it is vital for the industry and economy. Getting your life back on track is much worse. It is good that the community sense is so wonderful and people help. ❤❤❤ With hugs and best wishes ❤❤❤

Thank you! Actually, one of my first projects was a whole cloth quilt. It was a small one, a pillow. I still have it and it looks great. As you are using matching thread, misteakes are not that visible. So once you have a good grip on few patterns, go for it. It is super relaxing. ❤❤❤

Sometimes I just follow my intuition and not the plan. The truth is, I was a bir daydreaming and spaced my first wishbones too far apart. Sometimes misteakes lead you to better results ❤❤❤. And I agree with you. Filing 100 wt therad is difficult as you use more the shadows than the actual contrast. But the texture is so yummy. ❤❤❤

Im 71 and you are so talented in how you put this together. I could watch you for hours. I started some practice squares and everything looked good on top then when I truned it over there were eyelashes in some of my curves and it looked like the top thread was showing through in some places. I unthreaded my machine and put a new bobbin in and changed my thread. my machine is picky on thread. it seems as though I cant use large spools they keep unthreading so I went back to smaller spools seems to sew better and not come unthreaded. your wishbones are awesome.

Hi there! you mean your body is 71 :) Your soul is super young. It looks like your machine has tons of personality. I hate it when that happens. In between I can almost hear it. And yes, some machines work better with one kind of thread. Mine has huge problems with poylester thread in yellow on large spools. This is very specific! So there is some general advice one can give but rest comes from collecting expirience. Thank you most kindly for your comment and feedback! Keeping my fingers crossed that your machine will behave! Please keep me posted on your progress ! ❤❤❤

@quiltingnerd
@quiltingnerd 21 күн бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! That is a difficult topic. My local quilt shop has a nice selection of Aurifil so I buy it there. Then I use Internet to buy the rest. Wonderfil has an europian outlet that helps, and the on-line shops selling sewing machines have a bit of selections. Amazon is also a source for some of the polyester thread. this is it. ❤❤❤
