I made 16 HST from two fabrics. I used 15 of them to create this fun shape. The division of the block was done just like that. And I had fun quilting it. I must admit, I was surprised by my own ideas…. Again.

Concentric circles radiating off the rectangular straight line of the echo stitching is an amazing complimentary effect . Beautiful!

Beautiful. My best ideas are always the most recent ones. My plan continually changes. That's life.❤

Hi Patricia, I can only admire peaople that can visualize their whole project from the beginning to the end and they have no need to adjust. I am like: Yey, I have a plan....only to say some time later.... my plan needs serious adjustments...But I would not change it as I am getting my results! ❤❤❤ And you are right, it is life.

Thank you for sharing. The spirals gave me the perfect idea for one of the elements to use for one part of a block for a quilt I am making for our eldest son. I am close to finishing piecing the top so my mind has been working quilting designs to enhance the look and feeling of this quilt.

What a beautiful present! Nothing better to say "I love you, here is a hug, my Mom made it for me, I should call her... I am very happy I could provide inspiration. This is the goal of all my videos! ❤❤❤

I personally love breaking rules. That is beautiful, Gosia, and the texture is fabulous. BUT, I say "what rules?" 😉 ~Cynthia

Hi Cynthia, I keep hearning that there are some rules for quilting but I never got a Memo.... I learn as I go 😂. I am often against things from the cathegory: but it was always like that, why change it, .... I liked this project a lot. Now lets go to another one ;) ❤❤❤ It is raining today, perfect.... I can hide with my machine

@@quiltingnerd Have fun, sweet lady! I am contemplating my next project I'll likely start sometime in August, probably something smaller, but who knows?

@@rootsrocksfeathers1975 Ah, but there are so many definitions of fun... For now I am trying to find my balance. I loved to have vacation but now I have to find this sweet spot where all my activities were nicely going along... I need to finish some of my quilts. I have one large quilt in blocks, second one in progress and at least six tops waiting for quilting... OK I have two more in progress....I cannot start anything new before at least two of the previous ones are not finished. I need a plan. Sending hugs from chaotic sewing room!

Would you have changed your quilting if the orange fabric had a print on it?
@quiltingnerd
@quiltingnerd 2 ай бұрын
Probably not as dot-to-dot is perfect for print fabrics. It gives the hint of texture, it is functional, but it does not have to be visible. If I would want a super strong effect on a fabric with print I would go for straight lines. They can be very impactful. Thank you for the question. It was a good one❤❤❤

I dont know that i agree with you about not being able to be a professional quilter. Your quilts are unique and very marketable. Id bet you would find an audiece happy to buy any of them as custom quilted and one of a kind. I dont think i could do a commisioned quilt for the same reasson. Lol

Thank you for this wonderful feedback. And thank you for your kind words. You are partialy right. I can sell at least some of my quilts (it is rare due to the price). However, being a professional quilter also means quilting for others the way they want and I may have problems with that. I am very often unable to stick to the plan, especially with more creative projects. I plan one thing and something else is happening. Some clients would be OK with it but some probably not.... I do hope that one day I can shift to be a professional at least part time. I would love to write a book or two, explore some projects and design some quilts...But for now I still have to be a responsible adult. Thank you again!❤❤❤

Hi Carla, I hope you are doing better! extra hugs! ❤❤❤Sometimes wanting the exact result can be disruptive. Being the right amount of relaxed is super important. For me it is the right music, audiobook....and letting it go a bit. It seems I have another topic for a video. There is practise, there is the quality of the machine, tricks like looking where we go and not the needle, and there is our head.....

@quiltingnerd I am thankful for your encouragement. A hints and tips video would be helpful. I can make neat wishbones now, and my ribbon candy looks like it was made by a 🥴 drunk candy maker. But it is much better than 3 weeks ago. These two patterns are basically linear and easier for me to practice. Have a wonderful 😊 week.
