Anyone having trouble on the Charlie cut, REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR GRIP and PRACTICE! I've been practicing for about 20 minutes and already I have gotten pretty good at the the first half, and with a little more practice I will probably get the second half too! Thank you MagicDecks so much!

+Rock Star Keep practicing, and you'll get it down perfect. This false cut was a big factor in one of my biggest shows just a couple of months ago. I actually was practicing so much before the show that I started to develop my own different versions of the cut. So just keep practicing, and you may even find a way to invent a whole new false cut!

Don't normally like any type of magic exposed on KZbin but I liked your method on this cut. Started working on it last night & can do it reasonably well now. Anyway here's an idea for your 1st. variation which you might like. At 2:45 take out the middle pack & do a one hand pressure fan ( backs outward) & at the same time do the one hand cut with l. hand. Hold your r. pinkie below the fan, let the cards dribble down & put the block into the cut & square. It works better & looks nicer.

This is really easy compared to other flourishing. I see allot of people hateing it because they dont know what there talking about. But if your only getting into to magic and have no sort of basic handling on a deck of cards its not a good idea to look at flourishing, Good job by the way love it XD

Pretty much what I was going to say. Not so "beginners". First I have to practice my one handed cut. Then proceed with getting the out jogged packet in the correct place. Time to redefine what a beginner is for many tutorials. But still like it. I improve every day. Thanks.

Actually, the cut is easy, but he'd say that you have to learn first: swing cut, pivot cut and charlier cut. Once you dominate these basic cuts, this false cut will be pretty easier to learn :)

This flourish IS NOT for beginners. The Charlier cut and the Swivel cut are, yes. But this is more on the intermediate side. For all of you who are getting frustrated with this cut because you thought it was more simple, DON'T GIVE UP! Keep going! The only way to get better is to keep practicing. Take the flourish one move at a time. It will not come to you over night. Don't give up when cards fall, that's expected! Stay positive! Remember: PERFECT practice makes perfect! MD

It is fairly easy to learn provided you have the basic card handling skills. However - those skills do take time to learn and it takes a lot of practice till you start feeling comfortable in handling the cards. Then you've reached the "beginner level". I was put off by that as well, but in the end all you need is the will to learn and practice. I recommend Rich Ferguson's "Shuffles & Cuts" as a way to train your hands
