I have watched this many many times and am no less horrified. I absolutely cannot believe no horses or drivers were hurt. No way.

This harness racing should be outlawed everywhere! Absolutely cruel! don't try to say these horses were not hurt! Doesn't show them walking away!

It seems like many of these horses just suddenly collapse.

The driver of the first horse to go down was very fortunate, he is straddles by the sulky of at least one other horse.

Ya just dont see pile ups like this in Sydney anymore.Track design and horse welfare have come along way in 20 years.Kudos to the industry for getting its act in order

Mile long track at Menangle=much safer. Still doesn't have half the charm Harold Park had though. Just outside the Sydney CBD right in the heart of harbour district. That's one thing Sydney had over Melbourne. Moonee Valley played second fiddle to the gallop track and wasn't in such a central spot like that. Especially that old track they had before this race here. Lovely infield just inside the running rail

Have you been living under a rock? There is still a long way to go for the industry to "get its act in order". Yes track and horse welfare may have come a long way but getting rid of the shonky criminal element in the industry is almost non existent.

Standardbreds are a tough breed. So much so that they make excellent cross country and show jumpers

They will not put out information on all horses shipped almost immediately to slaughter - their quiet little secret - when injured but can walk, hobble, limp and stand on the slaughter truck.

The horses get no recognition or much concern. Lets just worry about the drivers. I dont understand the use em and abuse em philosophy of owners.
