It's very rare these days to find anything made in the USA so glad you were able to get one made here seems well-made and decent bro I enjoyed the video.

@@JordanUAll mags are made in the u.s.a except their new led flashlight models like the ml300l 4d led which the entire body in made in the u.s.a and but the led and some components are made in china.

Thanks for this review - I've purchased one of these partly based from your video. I'm looking for a good reliable flashlight and this seems to tick the boxes (nostalgia factor cinched it for me)!

You're welcome. I've been very happy with the light so far, plenty bright and very well made.

My family has used MagLites since before I was even born. From my experience, you can submerge them in a few meters of water, just make sure the rubber button is fully inserted into the case, and obviously the end caps are properly threaded too. Also, the spring for the tail cap should just pop out if you lightly wiggle it while pulling. One last thing, if you take the top cap with the lens off, you can use the light as a torch, and you can also stand the light up in the cap while it's removed to use like a candle.

I figured there must be something I was missing about the replacement bulb.

It will make a great club if needed for escape or defense. I used to have a 4D cell one, but gave it away and now make due with a 2D cell mag lite.

Great Choice! I enjoy my 3D and 2D incandescent maglites in the house entrance and garage. I also have about 5 incandescent mini maglites scattered across my toolbag, restrooms, kitchen drawer and my mancave. Also one mini mag pro plus on my edc holster. They have never let me down unlike most of my other flashlights. I put some electric grease on the threads and makes it more water resistant. I also love the artifacts and the natural warm light that incandescent bulbs give off. I have rechargeable batteries along with alkaline batteries just in case. I Love Maglites, always have and always will.

MagLite is the best torch I've used. I do plan to get a few more in the future.

i just bought a 6 d cell maglite with a xenon bulb. mine says xenon bulb printed on the box. i also ordered a 5" extension tube to make it an 8 cell flashlight. im hoping 8 cells wont blow the bulb due to the extra voltage, if so i will buy a higher voltage bulb.
@JordanU7 ай бұрын
I would start with the higher voltage bulb. Running it at a higher voltage than intended will cause it to be come very hot and significantly reduce lifespan and reliability.

Nice. My parents still have silver Maglites they bought new back in the 2000s

We had a MagLite that had a weird issue where it would work but when the top with the spring was tightened all the way, it wouldn’t work. If you kept it partially closed it would. Sent it to them and they repaired it for free!

Nice flashlight! I have an older 4 cell version. But you should know the older Maglites use a standard lamp you can buy anywhere, but the newer ones use a proprietary one.
@JordanU11 ай бұрын
There's always a catch... At least it's still replaceable at all.
@HIDLad00111 ай бұрын
@@JordanU Yeah, and I think the optical distribution on the newer proprietary lamp is better than that of the standard lamp on the old ones. The latter is very uneven.

The banding has nothing to do with the type of light.

@@JordanU no, it's the frequency caused by electronics of the flashlight to the LED, not the LED itself. Every light will flicker if the frequency is low enough.
@Madness83211 ай бұрын
I was under the impression that LEDs wouldn't flicker when powered by a pure DC source (like a battery). Usually figured AC or PWM to be the problem.
@Butchey2411 ай бұрын
@@Madness832 exactly! He is blaming it on the LED.
