Magnetic Wargaming Board Part 1

Here is my 3rd design for a modular wargaming board. I incorporated magnets into this design to help hold the tiles together during gameplay.

Excellent and extremely accurate means of creating truly solid modular boards. I also like the magnet connections, I personally already use magnet for connecting my road and river terrain pieces. Mine use inexpensive rubber magnetized sheets adhesive acked, and these can be joined to the terrain as the connecting end is fitted with a lip made of ready cut metal wargaming bases I purchased online from LITKO.net. Works very well!

Great combination of techniques to build a light weight but durable board. I thought of building as whole table using such substructure a while ago but dropped the idea because of the lack of tools I got ;). Interesting project which I definaetly will follow.

The jig took me about an hour to figure out dimensions that would work and then make the cuts. I recently purchased a dado blade for my table saw. The right blade made all the differance. The jigs I tried in the past did not work out too well with a standard blade.

How long did it take you to make the jig for the support structure. That is a very professional job on that jig. Great job. Look forward to the next parts.
