Just bought the bamboo one, I’ve wanted to learn to skateboard for years and this quarantine has finally pushed me to learn how Super excited! Thanks for the review
@ejlabaria41944 жыл бұрын
DontLookAtMuh - the bamboo one is nice! I was too cheap to pay the extra $10 bucks haha. Enjoy! Great board for some fun riding. Once you get comfortable ride around with the head phones on with some good jams 👌🏽

How you like riding it so far? Thinking of picking one up. Never skated before but I do snowboard
@ejlabaria4194Ай бұрын
@@ChinamanDrip I do like it. I think it’s a good starter board with that background. It’s nimble so makes it easier to street surf around, but also long enough to try and pull off some tricks (not like a penny board).

I turn 30 this year and have always loved skateboarding but never actually tried it. I decided to order this board with the lightbulb graphic today and start learning, should be here by Thursday! Keeping up with my kids riding their bikes at the park is rough without wheels so hopefully this makes it easier lol
@ejlabaria41944 жыл бұрын
Nice, this will definitely help w/ keeping up. I started skating more long distances on a path with bikes and I now usually pass the family’s with bikes (there moderate pace). You’ll love it. Once you get the hang of it and more comfortable definitely try riding with headphones with some good jamz - that’s the best right there.

hey, ik 6 months late, but just friendly advice: the way you checked bearings is not a sure fire method. most of the time, when bearings spin fast or for a long time, it means they’re dry, which is actually bad. some of my best bearings have actually only spun for two or three seconds, but let me cruise endlessly on pavement. i do like how you showed a lot of personal usage of the board, though. that’s really helpful to viewers.
@ejlabaria41943 жыл бұрын
Ah interesting. Yah I really wasn’t too sure how to test it and was more like “this might be a good idea” haha + did the “push test” in addition but that didn’t capture the distance to well. But either way thanks for the heads up!

Is it better than the dinghy
@ejlabaria41942 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried the Dinghy. I think this board is smaller width and length and rides more like a long board. The Dinghy seems to be a bit bigger all around and rides like a old school skateboard.

i want to get a cruze board just to go from a to b would you recommend this i am looking for boards on amazon
@ejlabaria41944 жыл бұрын
Yes! This would be fit board for just that. You get the benefits of a cruiser type board -> easy smooth riding plus the mobility of a regular sized board. It’s small enough (not too small) to easily carry around and take with you. Can’t beat the price either.

is it necessary to get new bearings for it? or is it fine with the original bearings in the board
@ejlabaria41944 жыл бұрын
Ravenphin2 - the stock bearing will be good for quite awhile, especially if your not planning on riding too hard and just cruise around. I purchased new bearings because I initially just wanted to see how much improvement to the performance I would get (not tremendously noticeable).

Saw this on amazon and had decent reviews. I saw one review that shows bigger 80mm wheels. Do you think these can fit 85mm caguamas ?
@ejlabaria41944 жыл бұрын
Jon Cunanan, I think they should fit but you’ll probably get a lot of tire rub. I get a decent amount of run with these stock wheels already, maybe a spacer would be ideal - the trucks broke in and loosened up a bunch.

Would you recommend to get better bearings like reds bearings
@ejlabaria41944 жыл бұрын
Lucas Faxon - I think it would be beneficial in the long run, even if it’s just the cheapest kind of Reds too (see my updated video if you haven’t). I’ve been riding the board a bit harder now and have noticed one of the bearings not functioning as well (stock bearings).
@WillehyАй бұрын
Do you believe the 275 lb max weight they claim?
@ejlabaria4194Ай бұрын
@@Willehy I believe that’s the very max weight but not very sustainable long term use. I’m about 185lbs and while this is a pretty solid board when I’m really pushing it, like carving hard it seems a bit “creaky”. If it’s just around the block or going to and from it should be good for a few years. I abused mine and the wood did start splintering, but after getting a good 3-4 years out of it. I still have mine but due for an upgrade.
@Spacenoid00014 жыл бұрын
The original bearing on these are fairly poor. The $50 pro bearing that they sell are much better. I loosen the nuts on the original ones and they still don't rotate like good ones does. I have a Penny Penny board and that is what I compare to, the wheels on that rotates like it is never going to stop. The $50 bearings rotated like the ones on the Penny board. but, I had to try many times before they line up properly to do free rotating, seems like there is a problem with tolerance. I should have just bought a Landyachtz Dinghy.
@ejlabaria41943 жыл бұрын
I think this board is good starter board for newbies or folks that haven’t ridden in a while. I’m still riding mine but plan to add a landyachtz Dinghy to the collection (now that I know I still like riding after a good amount of years of not riding). I’m not a fan of how bouncy the penny boards are/feel (from the ones I’ve ridden).

hi im getting this for my first board i mainly want to cruise maybe oillie up curbs i did want normal skate board in the future do you think having a cruiser first with make it harder to learn on a regular board
@ejlabaria41943 жыл бұрын
Super late response my bad. It is a bit harder to Ollie on this due to wobbly trucks and smaller length board (have to really get the movement down). But if you can get it down on this (definitely possible to get the basic movement with a small Ollie) it’ll be extremely easy if you go to regular board.

@deonpeace81754 жыл бұрын
Hi, i'd very happy if you happen to answer my questions. I'm considering ordering one but to me the wheels and the trucks really matter. I'm wondering if the trucks are maneuverable like you only push down a bit and you're already in a different direction? And will the wheels hold up on rough pavements? Thank you so much!
@ejlabaria41944 жыл бұрын
@Deon - Hey! The wheels are doing surprising well. I rode/ride this fairly hard in the beginning (longer rides, ollies, practiced drops from curbs/ledges, carving,...) - wheels are stilll pretty good going over some old messed up pavement with a good push, but starting to bald out a bit (signs of wear). The trucks have been a bit wonky lately, it’s rides smooth but when I go over rough pavement (brick/tile - my area has some of this) or drop from a curb, I notice the trucks will position weird (pull to the right). They usually reset. It’s annoying sometimes. I was considering just tightening them up or changes some of the hardware, but haven’t done yet (don’t want to comprise the maneuvering by tightening. Again keep in mind I’m probably riding a bit harder then the intended use. If your going to be putting some major miles, going through some patches of rough terrain - this will last for an “okay” time. I’d say this board then be ready to change out parts 3-4 months in (if you’re riding the way I mentioned). I haven’t rode for a while but having this board ‘sparked’ that joy for riding again so I plan to keep this (for smoother riding) but also look into other boards that fit my style or riding (thinking more of an old school style board).

Is the back even? Like could I paint the bottom of the board?
@ejlabaria41943 жыл бұрын
The bottom of the board is curved a bit, you can definitely paint it but would recommend a spray or few light coats if using a brush. Either way will likely require some touch ups often due to rocks and the ground scuffing it up a bit.

How fast can you go mph while being stable on the board.
@ejlabaria41943 жыл бұрын
I’ve bombed a hill but nothing too crazy, didn’t get any speed wobble and the board definitely could’ve gone much faster. if I had to put an estimate I was probably going 15mph. If you know you’ll be bombing hills the majority of the time then maybe another board. I question the quality of the stock trucks, that’s the only thing I experienced that was questionable but I do attemp ollies, and kick flips so I beat it up a bit more then the intended use

hey there, I got one of this too. I am a beginner and I have been trying to get it to slide and have not been able to do so yet. My street has very grippy asphalt and may have been a contributing factor. How hard is it to slide in this board with that soft rubbery wheel? that 78 duro rubber seem more like 76 to me. Thanks!
