Artemiev is such a gentleman that doesn't get enough attention. He always gets up to greet, always does a firm handshake (unlike most chess players), always smiles even when he loses to a great move. He's a star in my eyes.

@@_s_l both of you are weak at reading microexpressions, Artemiev saw the blunder at 8:39, it took him about 8 seconds to figure it out (f4), and magnus' masked expression is also then at 8:39-8:40, when he relaxes his jaw and the look in his eyes becomes frozen for a few milliseconds, from the shock, and then he returns to his poker face

It's also interesting how Carlsen doesn't let on after the mistake ...Ne4? until Artemiev has played f2- f4. Only then, when his opponent has moved, does Carlsen show his dismay at his mistake.
@realCevra
@realCevra Жыл бұрын
would be unsportsmanlike to disturb your opponent during his move or resigning right away, since if he didn't see it right away, maybe his opponent won't either thereby not deserving to win the piece. resigning afterwards in a clearly lost position then shows respect for his opponent's ability to win from that position
