Much respect to Peter. Losing to one of the greatest players in chess history ain't something to be ashamed of. Also those are blitz games, where Magnus's innate genius is even more evident, so yeah... To be able to take it with a smile and keep being positive is one of the many great qualities of Peter. GG!

Well said. Do not understand some of the stupid comments on here. These guys they enjoy a bit of banter and can take a bit of a piss take if it is done in a tasteful way i guess. But some of the comments were just rude. Lets face it. No gm on this planet can beat magnus in a blitz match. They might score a few wins but not win a match. Some of the best have tried in the speed chess championship and they all failed gloriously. We all remember how he destroyed the likes of wesley so grishcuk or nakamura

Svidler always eloquent and his thought process is fascinating. I love it when he calls a bad move a "completely empty gesture". He is just so cooooool.

Thank you Peter for the great commentary and games. It is difficult to play the GOAT (meaning Greatest Of All Time), but your explanations and objectivity show that you are still a great player. It is kind of like I would imagine a Capablanca vs Bogolyubov match. Very nice and a great show, and your contributions to chess and life are very admirable. Your commentating is very lucid.

Even if there were no chess I could just enjoy listening to Peter's English. He's extremely resourceful to come up with expressions like "horrible mental episode" and likes... :) Very entertaining. Magnus is funny sometime but I prefer listening to Peter.

He needs more playing strengths. Self Confidence does not win anything, but you will lose very quickly, because self confident players tend to underestimate the opponents possibilities. You need untainted objectivity in chess, at least when doing concrete analysis.
@schusterlehrling
@schusterlehrling 5 жыл бұрын
@Anon • bullshit. To forget about the opponents opportunity by ignoring them as you are "confident" never works. What you describe shows your fears, and it is not adbisable to ignore them. They show you how to avoid traps and possible misfortune. If you are self conscious you should listen to them and they are very important. If you lack any objective look upon yourself you are bound to lose.

i like chess but i dont care to listen to the rattling off of annotation like it's a second language. And when i do try to pick out a move and look at what youre saying its not a legal move. im sure i am just not hip to the knowledge but how about banter instead of pontificate.
