Now this is why I enjoy watching what some people eat in a day. I get amazing different ideas of what to try. That quesidilla is something I definately plan to make soon for breakfast. So quick and simple ingredients that I always have on hand. Now salmon I could eat for breakfast, lunch dinner, snack. I live in the sticks so incant get salmon so easily especially during the times right now. Broccoli, brussel sprouts sweet potatoes is one of my favorite combinations. I cube my sweet potatoes so all three can be cooked evenly.

Adding up the calories from those macros of 190 g protein, 300 g carbs, and 120 g fat that's about 3040 calories and BMR (resting energy) for someone of your weight, age, height is about 1800 calories. That means you have to burn 1240 active calories per day to break even. That's a lot of calories to burn EVERY day including rest days. Are these calculations correct for you?

Magnus, appreciate the vids my brotha! I recently got your app as well. In your app, you give calculations as a percent of targeted body weight for protein, carbs, and fat. For example, 200 lb target weight, someone should eat 170 grams of protein (85%). In this video it you state you should eat one gram of protein for each pound or in this example 200 grams of protein. You were careful to state "target" weight in your app so I don't attribute this difference to losing weight vs maintaining weight. Can you clarify this point sir? I'm all in on the Magnus Method, I just want to get the basics down for nutrition. Thanks for all that you do to help me with exercise and nutrition!

I have subscribed for the simple reason that I do follow your thoughts on cardio vs strength training. Please could you make a video for mere mortals? I am training to compete on a sprint distance triathlon. Because of my work as a consultant in the finance industry, I sit at my desk all day and train every day about 40 minutes. Only one day a week rest. I follow the 20/80 principle that seems to be working for me. I.E. 20% HIIT and race pace sessions, the other 80% strength and lower zone 2 cycle and runs. But I have always struggled with nutrition. I only have to look at a beer and the fat piles on. Not a good thing when living in Belgium where we have the best selection of beers anywhere. So needless to say, when the temptation is too great in the summer, I stick to gin and tonic or Hugo (1 measure elderflower liquor, fresh mint, ice and topped up with prosecco). I have tried the protein powders, but following the grams per kg just never worked. The fat just piled on. So please help!!!! BTW I have one of those body composition bathroom scales that tells me % fat I have.

How do you feel about intermittent fasting? Other programs, Kinobody for instance, recommend foregoing breakfast altogether, supplementing it with an energy boosting drink or protein of some kind, and waiting until lunch. I just had a bowl of healthy cereal and whole milk after a workout. Did I lessen results by fueling up for the morning? Great videos. Thanks!
@BrickTemplar Жыл бұрын
I think you did great. Some protein drinks contain extra sugars. Energy drinks are outright bad for your heart and deplete your energy reserves. If your stomach is empty, you can get gastritis. There's nothing wrong with training fasted in the morning, but for the better results you can get a shake before or after the workout. Actually, eating oatmeal, but that without any additional dry fruits or sugars they pack in a store, is great for weight loss. If you have dinner at 6-7pm and then lunch at 13 is too long. 12h is fine, intermittent fasters go for 16h. But perhaps they don't have any intellectual tasks at work. Only bodybuilding.

So one day for dinner I can have a rack of ribs (and eat healthy the other 4 meals that day), and the next I can eat a bacon double cheese burger with fries and 5 beers (and eat healthy the other 4 meals that day) and the next day I ca. annihilate the Chinese buffet ( and eat healthy 4 other times that day), and that will be fine? Yeah I don’t think so. This is silly.
